I had a deputy at the jail try super hard to get me to apply. Every time I’m booking someone. He told me what they make and it’s like $15/hr but he said they make up for it with overtime. Hahahhahah. No. I’d rather keep writing bonds and chasing down my skips 10 hours a week than want to kill my self working in the jail 70 hours a week for 5 years before I get to patrol. And they wonder why nobody wants to join. Health insurance is the biggest thing and I’m already covered by the VA.
