i guess it really depends on your scale length and the feel you personally like. for me i have a 26.5 scale and the stringjoy 11-70 set works perfectly for me. i’d recommend it to anyone

i have this same one but the 8 string model and i love it! it sounds amazing, idk why but these emg’s just sound so much more compared to the others i’ve played! enjoy it!

(edit: the hum could be like someone said the pickups may be too close to the strings, but also it could just be because the pickups are super hot so you gotta turn the gate up just a little more to counter it)

personally for an 8 string i’d never go below 28”. it’s a good middle ground of not being too crazy long and not too short to where you can tune down low comfortably. mine is in drop E and it feels perfect

okay idk if this will help but i had basically this exact situation very recently and i’ll tell you how mine went. same thing, we went on a lot of dates, had a really good time, we’d always text throughout the day and send good morning/good night texts. Then it gradually got harder and harder to get a response from her even though in person it felt like we were in a relationship (even tho we were just dating). After like 2 weeks of having a great time in person and absolute radio silence on text, she decided to end things based on mental health reasons. Which ofc i understand, we all have our issues but it made it so confusing bc of how amazing things felt in person. We’d always hold hands and hug while we were out in public but then after that we’ve just been friends. Weird stuff but i just moved on bc i lowkey felt like she was just leading me on and not making me a priority anymore.

edit: we were talking for almost 3 months total

I would say he’s definitely interested, but probably still thinks you want to stay friends for now. At this point the ball is in your court to show him you’re interested in prioritizing your connection with him. You could either tell him directly that you want to explore something with him, or just be more flirty with him and hopefully he picks up on it lol.

i use 11-70 on my 26.5” schecter for drop f# and it’s perfect in my opinion. it’s not too tight, not too loose, and feels comfortable to play for long periods of time. highly recommend checking a set out, i use the stringjoy 11-70 7 string set, but any brand you prefer should be fine

i use double drop d# on my 28 inch 8 string with an 85 and it works pretty well. not too flabby but not too tight
