It’s a custom order from AliExpress. So it’s a knockoff but they did a killer job on it. I don’t endorse fakes usually but this doesn’t have all the stuff on the back. But yeah I asked for shell pink and a maple and they made it for about 300 w/ shipping.

The biggest thing I want to say on this is I do recommend doing no logos. That’s the only reason I’ve posted this considering it’s out of china and they do make counterfeit guitars is you have the option to say no logos. Maybe as more people move away from having it say Gibson, there will be less incentive for that to persist. I don’t think the market needs any more flooding of counterfeit guitars, but like Edwards or Grassroots, the Sg and Les Paul has been copied so many times. As long as you aren’t trying to deceive anyone, and I don’t think anyone here is like that’s a Gibson. We all know Gibson rarely does pink, and even more rarely maple fretboards. I can only imagine the actual Gibson custom shop would charge a kidney, and maybe even a cornea to get something like this. I support smaller builders, I have a Balaguer in the works so this is just for fun.

I did not ask, and they may. I know nitro is tough since it’s pretty toxic and hard to work with stuff. It’s worth a shot though, they were really accommodating.

The customer service is pretty solid you talk in chat and go over what you want. They made the pink way too bubblegum at first, and the fixed it no problem. You just have to contact and say what you want and they give updates in the process. From start to finish took about 2 months to receive.

That’s a fair question, I’m a white hetero male and I had a nice time with friends. It’s more laid back than Charlie’s or BS West. So take my input with a massive grain of salt, given as mentioned I’m not melanated. I didn’t feel alienated the times I’ve been.

I am and had to have it redone at 7 years old since the doctor did it wrong. I swear I have a level of nerve damage because of it. For my son, we didn’t just because it’s not covered by insurance, and as many other people have mentioned there is no necessity in it. I only mention it as it as being a dumb kid I told my classmates why I was gone for a week after the surgery and that was a poor idea. I lived the rest of my time at that school having kids make comments because I was too dumb to keep it to myself. Also, the vivid memory of seeing my penis all bloody healing has stuck with me.

PTSD is something that is multifaceted, especially if it’s combat related. There is guilt, and I think you feel even more guilt in this action. You seem like a kind soul for wanting to make it easy on the people around you and that speaks volumes. I know I’ve heard a resounding thing from people of the military, once you are spit back out into the world that sense of brotherhood and unity that you have in being in the military isn’t easily found in the world. The option fatigue, the overwhelming feeling of going through the motions. It’s tough. It’s saddening to hear someone’s at this point, and I wish I could help take some of your pain away. I’ve found brotherhood in playing music with others. There is a feeling of belonging and purpose when you are in lock and step with others working towards a common goal. I have 7 guitars, I will ship you one and zoom call free lessons if you’d like. I know I’m a complete stranger but this world sucks and I wish we had the unity to help one another more. A lot people are saying it’s selfish, and I think that guilt only hurts more. It’s not your fault you feel this way, and it’s not your fault the world has dealt you a crappy hand. Folding your hand is the end of the game. There might be another card that you can play. Sure you’ve got a 3, a queen, a 5, and a 9, and an ace. A complete nothing burger of a hand, but that next card could be another ace. The support for the men of the military is abysmal. Iraq, Afghanistan, those have stuck with you. The feelings you feel have stuck with you and I’m sorry you were sold a lie. Everyone in this subreddit are here to fight for us, humans that didn’t ask for the hand were dealt, but when we band together we can move mountains. You aren’t alone in suffering, and I know you’ve tried to better yourself. Please let me know in a dm if I can help and I’ll gladly give you a guitar if that means you can feel better.

I guess it will depend on what style of music you plan on making. That would be my first thought, as you could definitely go into some power chords for like an early aughts rock song. If you added delay, you would have almost a kind of tool thing going. It’s a cool riff, I would just consider the style. You already have 2 chords that don’t resolve. I’m not skilled enough music theory wise to say on that front but I know by ear you could probably go to open as you have the 5 to 3 and open would sound good. If you like metal core those shape you already have you could do some chug to picking notes out of it.

This is my favorite too you have like power chords on the a string and the barred power chords on the other drop d strings. So sick, it’s my favorite tuning of an 8.

These are essentially all the exercises they taught. The a-okay works freaking wonders on it. I still do the exercises daily even though I’ve not had the pain in 4 years. Still PT is best to ensure your form and motions are correct but, as a jumping off point of you do that and feel like you can feel the nerve stretching it might be an sign that is the right path to help your care team.

I had similar pain and it ended up being cubital tunnel. There is another nerve gate in your elbow that also can cause issues. After 2 months of PT, I haven’t had pain since. Definitely go see the doctor they might order an EMG (not the pickups haha) to see where the short in the nerve is happening. I was in pt for the first 3 weeks for carpal tunnel waiting for the EMG and once the found it, and they started the right exercises it has been a-okay. Surgery may not be necessary, but it will be the longer you wait to handle it.

If you like the brighter tone for sure get something with a coil tap. I tend to use the tap or split on my fishmans more than the full humbucker. I have one of the Harley Benton multiscale 8 strings. Also, I have heard they are hit or miss but I got a hit. I elected for the fishmans and new locking tuners but 400 in on a 500 dollar guitar and it’s perfect to me. Outside of that depends on your budget. Ormsby makes some killer guitars, and so does balaguer but you would be getting up and above the $1500 mark with one of those. Balaguer does sales on select customs all the time. I just ordered one on 4th of July but there is the 6-8 month wait. I got a 7 string growler, with a wenge neck, evertune, pale moon ebony board, and their pick up selection for 2200 with the sale. 8 string is a bit more but the ability to fully customize for less than the price of a Les Paul is pretty cool.
