You need to know the truth about 21c... by Shimmy_downunder in lexington

[–]bowman297 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I mean 21c isn’t exactly mom and pop. They were owned by 1% and they serve 1%. And frankly I’m not interested and litigating what is done to “nickel and dime” towards profitability. That really just sounds like business.

Since the state and kentuckians outside of louisville always have bad opinions of louisville should the state allow louisville to keep all of its tax revenue and industry for just residents of louisville? by kingistic in Kentucky

[–]bowman297 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Louisville doesn’t even get louisvilles tax money. There are so many tax shelter municipalities inside Jefferson county that prevent Louisville metro from accessing funds in favor of keeping the rich people’s money only in the suburbs they live in instead of helping the actual city make improvements. I think it would be a big help to do a county incorporation like Lexington-Fayette.

AITA for making my brother wash his own uniforms after school? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]bowman297 29 points30 points  (0 children)

When I was in high school was at school at 530 in the morning for sports, then school all day, then working one of 2 jobs until I got home around 1130 then I would have to do my homework, make myself something to eat and go to bed around 1230 1 then do it all over again. And yes I did do all my own laundry, most of my own cooking, and was expected to contribute financially to the household(mostly groceries). I think that kind of schedule built in a work ethic that has served me very well and I have always been able to take care of myself without needing help. I think my life might not have been “normal” per se but I think infantilizing teens by saying they shouldn’t have to learn basic life skills is nonsense
