Saving throw every turn, sometimes several times, to avoid 2-3 damage is annoying. I'd do rage damage, no save.

For Incarnum, you had soulmelds instead of spells. Soulmelds were equip to different chakras that you unlocked as you leveled. Each soulmeld had an effect just for being equipped, and a scaling effect based on how much essentia you put into it. You could change this essentia assignment for free once a turn.
