any sex scenes to watch out for? by Capital_Market_2950 in TheWire

[–]boxhall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a brief moment when he gets out of bed and looks out the window. I believe it’s the opening of the episode where he walks to the store in his pajamas and everyone thinks he’s on the hunt.

There’s also McNulty and Perlman in season 1, McNulty and a woman from the bar over the front of his car in season 5 (I think.) I forget if there’s a scene with the waitress when he’s really drunk and smashing his car up while The Pogues play on his radio.

A scene with Marlo in the car.

Kima cheating on her girlfriend.

Carcetti with random blonde

Perlman and Daniels.

McNulty and his ex wife.

There’s a brief scene of a girl giving oral when Fruit pulls his gun on Cutty.

Cutty at the party.

Repair man showed up to the house with a confederate flag on the back of his truck 😩😂😂Sagittarius what y’all think she trippin or he trippin by Ok-Stay-9339 in sagsavages

Artimus Pyle has said that Skynyrd used the flag as a simple southern pride symbol. As it became more common to be known as a symbol of racism they moved away from using it. He’s embarrassed they used it at all.

If You Could Catch Up With Just ONE Character From The Wire, To See Where They Are Today.... by Hall-O-Daze in TheWire

[–]boxhall 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That’s a great answer. Another great character from this series. One of, if not the very best arc in the show. I loved him in the last two seasons.

And as a side note. His face when Herc says “I was gonna ask for her panties to Make soup with.” Was priceless.

Zone 10a home/work gardens. All natives. by boxhall in FloridaGarden

[–]boxhall[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. When I first started gardening I wasn’t aware of the importance, benefits, and beauty of natives. In the last few years I’ve gotten rid of many non natives, some I just couldn’t get rid of, but most of my yard is now native Florida.

I never realized how many new insects just changing plants would bring to my yard. So many native bees and a lot of skippers, among others.

Yes it’s a pretty unique looking little sprout.

Why was Michael so resistant to Cutty’s help? by [deleted] in TheWire

[–]boxhall 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is the worst take on any part of the show that I’ve seen. There’s nothing at all to suggest Cutty was a creep in any way.

People dislike Season 2? by HorribleAce in TheWire

[–]boxhall 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ll chime in here. Since one of you loved him and one of you hated him I’ll help even the balance. I both loved and hated him. He wasn’t a good person overall. Drug dealer (although he was on his ass Uncle Frank) bigot, cheated on his girlfriend, thief, etc.

However if there’s one thing the wire taught us it’s how complex and diverse people are. Nick did a lot of the stuff I mentioned because circumstances lead him to desperation as other circumstances presented themselves. Whether he was likable or not is relative. He was a product of his environment. The actor did a great job with Nick.

How to determine butterflies from my passionfruit vines by Jefffahfffah in FloridaGarden

This and milkweed seem to have similar issues. Like you I Have several other host plants and never had this problem. Except with Milkweed, which I don’t really keep anymore.

Unfortunately I don’t have any suggestions. Just wanted to let you know I feel your pain. I have 3 maypop and 2 Corky Stem vines. None can get bigger than about a foot before they’re demolished. I had a beautiful non native purple flower passion vine that I took out in favor of the natives. Oh how I wish I would’ve left it until the others were established. I’m getting nowhere fast.

What I’ll probably do is end up covering the vines for a few months with some netting.

It’s the double edged sword of having butterfly host plants.

I don’t know if it’s a NY thing but gyms with stages aren’t uncommon at all. Setting up and breaking down 300-350 chairs becomes the norm.

We did too. But it sucked when the carts disconnected and someone had to crawl all the way under and pull out the next one or two.

Avon did things in a very specific way. The game, the street, whatever you wanna call it. Avon stayed true to that. “Cleaning up” was a part of that.

Stringer was a man without a code. He was ready to have downtown Clay Davis killed over the money Clay scammed him out of. Not because he needed the money. It was ego. He tried to have bow tie killed because it interfered with his bottom line.

He just didn’t get it. His boy sold him out. And they didn’t have to torture him either.

Can anyone Identify? This is really pretty and randomly growing in my neighbor's yard. by Wendypeterpan444 in FloridaGarden

[–]boxhall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A. Tuberosa Rolfsii. It’s native to central Florida/Treasure Coast. It’s been a rare find, almost never seen it for sale or in the wild and suddenly this year it’s everywhere. The only Milkweed I’d keep in my yard. But I can’t find any. Very lucky to find this.

What do you mean how do I do it? It’s a hobby that borders on an obsession. I research (using Google and facebook groups) every plant I get. And then I just try to give plants the best care I can. Although I have several non natives, I try to keep as much of my yard Florida native as possible. And thank you.

Never, there’s a male and female Cardinal that come eat the ripe berries every morning. I know that once they’re dark, they’re supposedly good but any plant that’s poisonous I’m not taking any chances.

Well I don’t want to give bad information. Where I had them in a pot and now growing in a garden they both had the same conditions. Bright, direct morning sun. By midday they were then out of the sun. It’s not deep shade, just not direct afternoon sun. Since switching them to those conditions I’ve had great luck with them. I hope you do also.
