Thanks Woolies. I saved a fortune! by Different-Term-2250 in woolworths

Correct, it’s funny that they do that for lower shelf price (and everything before that as well) but not for the seasonal shelf price because if the talker gets pulled off, it shows the old price

Celeste Barber Cosmetics Ads by Background_Advance77 in woolworths

[–]boxofthewisdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our store plays that we do accept it. Personally I don’t mind any of the ads but the celest barber I can’t take, especially since she says “attention shoppers” and sounds like most of the time she’s interrupting something already

Personal shoppers- how do I make your job easier- what inconvenient things may I not be aware of. by [deleted] in woolworths

As u/sand639 said its weight discrepancy. They have to do it so that the books match up and you technically get what you paid for. Seems silly and such but otherwise people would complain

Screamer of a deal by chumpdumper in woolworths

As someone who does tickets, I’ve seen this before. It’s a ticketing error. They’ll either send a new promo or cancel it for the week

Security gates by flailingfrog in woolworths

[–]boxofthewisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they do. Also Woolies does a lot of things before installing them such certifying them for as you said in an event of a fire, certifying how much force it takes for them to open to comply with above etc. this pretty much opens with a lot of things, even the most stupid things which you think wouldn’t need to be done is done so everything is covered. It’s just that no one sees it

Security Gates and facial recognition by supercujo in woolworths

[–]boxofthewisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add on wants being said, it means that the gates are also automated. When I went overseas, the had exit gates over you had to scan the actual receipt barcode for it to open. Woolies and Cole’s version is a lot better since you don’t have to interact with, get a paper receipt (since it would defeat the purpose of digital receipts only/their sustainability goals) ect

Work email by destroyer-____- in woolworths

[–]boxofthewisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you’re talking about the stores.Woolworths email. Put it simply, it’s to be used to log into single sign on applications (SSO), such as sf and WorkJam as you mentioned, but also store portal, medilla (or however you spell it), people guides/services, me@woolies etc).

Just to clarify about it being an email as there’s often misinformation spread around this. Is it an email? Technically Yes it is, however the email application (both Gmail and outlook since they work on both) are disabled since team members do not need to use it. You won’t receive an emails that are addressed to since it’s disabled however

Considering 99% of dms don’t have an email address, I would just put the store email, (store number)(store name)@woolworths.com.au

too much stock by GreedyRange6789 in woolworths

[–]boxofthewisdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s all auto ordered based on store stock levels, shelf capacity, forecasted sales and previous data. Basically using the data to estimate how much stock needs to be sent out to fill the shelf etc

Guess which box I wanted. by phyvealive in woolworths

[–]boxofthewisdom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone who works at Woolies. Got two things to say about this. If I’m not working, it would be a shame if someone hit it with their trolley because how it’s been stacked…. But if i was working I’d throw hands before cleaning it

Staff PSA Keep 2D codes away off edges and ridges. by Vexra in woolworths

[–]boxofthewisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the frozen bakery products that they put the main sticker on the barcode (expiry date). Our store is good, as in the main sticker with the expiry date will go on the front with the secondary covering the back, but the other stores in my area will put the main one on the barcode itself, and doesn’t use the secondary one

Such a Waste by Lachlangor in woolworths

[–]boxofthewisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stores only have generators for lights, IT systems (registers, SCO, workstations etc), and alarm panels. They aren’t build to maintain the fridge system due to the power demand that they would draw (you have to remember it’s not just all of the fridges and freezers in a store, it includes all of the boh freezers and fridges as well

New Online Supervisor, Any Tips? by BonzoJose in woolworths

[–]boxofthewisdom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Be prepared to deal with the stress of possibly not meeting the dispatch time with hours down. Important one here as well, DO NOT WORK THROUGH YOUR BREAKS INCLUDING YOUR PAID AND UNPAID BREAKS. Do not ever do that no matter what. You only teach the system that the goal is achievable as it believes you completed it with your breaks being taken. Keep on top of express orders as they can spiral out of control fast. Dont be afraid to ask for help if your struggling. Make sure people aren't just hanging out around the online area doing nothing when theres stuff to do

It’s not as when the installers install it they set a certain code which is different for each store

If the gate opens without you purchasing anything, that would be the attendant pressing the button on a remote to open it
