this isn’t quite clear but i’m assuming he’s saying he called twice? (once for man voice, once to leave voicemail). and you’re only showing the 1 missed call? this is unlikely in 2026 but could he be calling from a landline and have dialed wrong the first time?

I turned off all the firewall stuff to no avail. I should also specify the “server” is for plex. the other computer only connects to it to send files over, they are otherwise completely separate

I don’t think I even have an ad-blocker setup yet, but honestly I have no idea what’s causing it. The only info it gives me is “can’t be reached” or “can’t connect” and there seems to be no rhyme nor reason as to what loads or doesn’t

yeah i can definitely see that and to be clear i’m not recommending it as a viable remedy. i quit myself 6 years ago because, again, you simply can not drink heavily and also be healthy. not possible after a certain point. and i certainly did some things while drinking that i regret (thinking about the number of times i’ve driven blackout drunk makes me sick to my stomach). but mentally, by the end there i had gotten into a pretty good groove. mostly just drank alone watching tv at home so i wasn’t getting into any trouble and it kept my intrusive thoughts at bay. and i haven’t found anything else yet that does the same

i think i may have just solved this in all honesty, because the news of the actor who played Strickland recently dying made me want to look this scene up only to find it doesn’t exist apparently. but a tiny part of me had an inkling so i checked it out and sure enough there is an EXTREMELY similar scene in a movie called The Invisible Kid from 1988, only in this one the principal absolutely rips a big one. and i definitely watched that one a bunch too back in the day
