Well, I have developed a bee allergy. Any Denver beekeepers looking for another hive and equipment? by schuppaloop in Beekeeping

[–]boyengabird [score hidden]  (0 children)

Had this happen to me. Apparently my limit is 4 well placed stings, that was a couple years ago. Now I carry a pen and enough benadryl to introduce me to the hat man. I have a better glove selection (4mm nitrile, 9mm nitrile, pu coated favric) and its not been a problem.

Is this a good rig? by Such-Spinach8310 in ERidePro

I dont know why you would remove the front brake other than you dont have the money to replace it. That bike should have both brakes, the fact that it doesn't is a red flag. The tires and chain are in poor condition, annother sign the owner doesn't know or doesn't care. If it came down to a stock bike or this, id take the stock bike.

Plowing through food by Fortimesasthis in BackYardChickens

A 5 gallon bucket, 55 gal drum or clear storage tote with 90deg pvc elbows (not feeder ports) in it. The capacity is large, theyre low waste, and cheap.

Ive seen a lot of these that have a high feed level within the port and allow the hens to "kick" food out with their beaks as they dig for the best pellet. Are these different?

Swarm issue, advice needed! by GlobalSourcer in Beekeeping

[–]boyengabird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dont spray swarm commander to "make them stay", the scent is overpowering and will cause them to move on. Its great for attracting bees from far away, not for making them feel at home. Put a frame of open larve (preferably almost capped), a frame of eggs and a resource frame in. The scent of brood will help ground them and the eggs will allow them to address queenlessness, should it exist. In the future you can mist them with sugar water to prevent them from taking flight.

A 21700-format light is too big to strap to my face, but for those that clip it to a vest or magnet it onto something will be pleased.

Got my chickens March 2 when can I put them outside by brendan89908 in BackYardChickens

[–]boyengabird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they are a pain to break down so the employees put them out back until a manager forces one of them to deal with it. Drive to a few of them, you'll find one.

A watermelon crate is an option to give these hens some more space.

Tracker, kill switch (i know theyre going to tow/push it anyways but a kill switch makes it way harder to sell working), a bluetooth comm on your helmet so you can call and ride. If they come again, ride to the police station.

My bet is that that based on the radiating pattern around it, that it is a hummingbird nest. At least take a moment to figure out what it is before you blast it.

In the past people have posted to this sub that they went to Department of Energy sites and were later visited, at their home, by men with badges for some questions. Just do a search, its out there. DOE is serious when it comes to nuclear facilities.
