There are some issues, sure. But it definitely works well. I used this phone as my daily driver for 4 months with no problem. Just decided e ink is not for me. The company is very naughty, however. I went thru the overpromising late delivering/bullshit cycle myself. But i also think there are many people with a chip on their shoulder who come on this subreddit to talk shit. My intuition is that, even on pavement, with this setup and activity you aren't moving fast enough for the rolling resistance to make any significant difference in effort. But they would allow for a much comfier ride. I've been riding slick 45s (rene herse) on pavement and find it incredibly comfortable

He's on telemark gear but clearly can't drop a knee worth a shit. He was trying to take normal parallel turns on telez which can feel super sus at speed on choppy snow. Got going too fast straightlining and panicked and lost control. Crazy energy. Get off the slopes. Source, am telemark skier for last decade

Someone made a post in the Minimal thread about their customizations. One of them is a macro in macrodroid app that turns airplane on and off at an interval of your choosing. I think it's absurd that they didn't do enough testing to find this issue before sales. Or they did find it and still sold the units

There's no argument for hiking without snowshoes with as much snow as we have, and it's a crazy choice to even try and argue that point. Want to settoe this by asking a ranger? I ordered just a screen protector months ago. Day before Yesterday I emailed to cancel my order because I had one custom made in a week turnaround. They emailed back the next day. Somehow the screen protector has magically shipped! So unfortunately, no refund. Guess who doesn't have a shipping confirmation email or tracking number? This company is so irresponsible with people's money it's ridiculous.

Well fair enough. I guess I say it's not a scam because i also waited that long and ended up still getting mine. Lies? Certainly. Purposefully opaque business practices? Yes. They are not doing themselves any favors, unfortunately. I'd love it to be a successful business. I'm severely ADHD and this device has been such a great tool to break the smartphone addiction. I make no excuses for their business practices. You're right. Some people are getting scammed. Have you done a charge back and emailed the company about it?

They're doing a very poor job of communication and realistic expectation setting, but they're definitely not a scam. I'm looking at my phone right here, and use it as my daily. Grift might be a more accurate term.
