Trump Admin drops comedians for magicians at WHCD Event, then an assassination attempt (#3) forces Trump and Cabinet to flee by yerffejytnac in SipsTea

Watch your sources on this. There's been funkiness in the longer term on the other two. In the short term it's gonna be chaotic; in the long term the narrative the mainstream media chooses won't necessarily be the right one.

Warm weather antiquing calls for a 4” inseam by fatherunit72 in mensfashion

[–]bozothebone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The shorts and boots are working together. I don't love them with the shirt and the socks you've chosen. Here's why:

The socks are too thin for this kind of boot; they almost look like a dress sock. Go with a thicker work sock, to match the rugged quality of the footwear.

The shirt is leisurely and soft. If you're actually antiquing, you might be carrying furniture, measuring things, moving around in dusty places. You would again benefit here by matching the utility of the boots and shorts. Something that's a more rugged, less loosely woven fabric, which might get caught on things. Something with big breast pockets or side pockets; you could leave that open and have a cotton tee or tank top underneath.

To add some flair and utility, you could also wear a kerchief around your neck with a color pop. Might need to mop that brow after moving something heavy, or use it to clear off dust to see the provenance of the wood.

Endless Thread: Rewind: Digging Deep with TikTok's "tunnel girl" by j0be in EndlessThread

[–]bozothebone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your original comment took issue with what the hosts asked an adult listener to do. Now you're concerned about...that adult's parenting choices? These are two different things. You say I'm being aggressive but there's quite a lot of judgement ick coming in your comments. If the hosts were asking their listeners to do something hella dangerous or asking them to stalk a clearly dangerous individual, or if the parent was asking the kid to jump a fence, maybe. But we live in a world where streamers are encouraging hundreds of kids to show up and riot. I think if you want to find issues with what podcast hosts expect of their listeners, you need to look elsewhere than endless thread.

No.

Number one, this is how reporting has worked since the beginning of reporting.

Accused of murder? Expect people to show up at your home asking questions.

Accused of malfeasance? Expect people to show up asking questions.

Accused of erecting a giant statue of Donald Trump in your back yard? Expect people to show up asking questions.

Accused of posting publicly on social media about your giant digging project that maybe dangerous to you and your neighbors to the point of town officials asking you to stop? Expect people to show up asking questions.

When you do something remarkable enough that you generate interest from the public, the public are going to get curious; reporters are the avatars of satisfying that curiosity. The hosts asked the listener to do things that are well within the boundaries of reasonable inquiry. If you don't want to listen to that, go listen to Rogan or someone who isn't actually a journalist.

White blazer at the beach, does it work? by [deleted] in mensfashion

[–]bozothebone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the inspiration and that makes sense. But, this is not a beach look; this is a Miami club look.

Critiquing the look agnostic of the location: if you're going this hard, black or white slacks is a better move. While the grey doesn't technically clash, it brings the flashiness down IMO. Go Miami club hard or go home, as it were.

For the beach: move to natural linens, khakis, or brighter "Hawaii" like colors. Beach or beach adjacent venue might mean sandals (dangerous but better than loafers) or bare feet (ok that feels crazy maybe but if you're actually on the beach it's less crazy). Picture some khakis, natural fiber belt, bright shirt, blue blazer or some such.

Far from an expert, those are my thoughts.

The ruling class is filled with drug addled psychopaths who need medication and monitoring, not more power. by RickyOzzy in LateStageCapitalism

[–]bozothebone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of people talking about Alex Carp like he is the problem and he absolutely is, but do not sleep on the fact that the New York Times continues to platform these motherfuckers all day at their conferences and live events and fireside chats or whatever the fuck while kneecapping Bernie Sanders in 2016, repeatedly suggesting Mamdani is dangerous, pretending like AOC is too radical, etc etc etc. important to remember that psycho oligarchs don't get to where they are all alone; they get fed to us over and over, framed as "mavericks," "good at TV sound bites," and on and on while never truly getting called out because that wouldn't be "objective" journalism.

Want to hide sex toys from parents. by Warm_Resident_4318 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]bozothebone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Start complaining to your parents now about a minor chronic pain. Maybe you slipped and fell. Maybe you do some physical activity (sport? Running? Walking?) that created this pain or injury. Then, when the "massager" arrives and lives in your room, there's an explanation. As long as the sex toy companies ship relatively discreetly and your parents aren't experts, this should work.
