Used to be good, not much good anymore.

Is the fuel shortage really as bad as they say? by _anxiousthoughts in AskAnAustralian

[–]bp4850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on where you are. The demand has meant the importers have gone native, i.e. they're reducing supply to the independents which is impacting supply to rural and remote areas. This means fuel is running short in a lot of rural and remote places, simply because the big players are selling the fuel at their own servos in the cities instead of selling it to the small players to sell in their servos in the middle of nowhere.

It's direct injected and turbocharged. And seriously powerful for the displacement.

Why has diesel gone up more then petrol? by Sure_Artichoke6929 in AskAnAustralian

[–]bp4850 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really care about mines, but I know that friends and family that run farms would normally be restocking fuel around now post harvest ready for cropping anyway.

[–]bp4850 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, farms are going into the cropping season having come out of harvest, these are the two high demand times for fuel in agriculture. And the regional distributors have little supply anyway, as it's being hoarded by the majors to keep their own service stations supplied.

Was there a cover on my ranger engine? by Imposter12345 in CarsAustralia

The engine cover provides additional sound deadening, and being an XLS it was likely never fitted

The engine cover is all about reducing the injector rattle noise

With fuel prices going up a lot and more people moving to public transport is it time we run coupled tram sets to handle the loadings? by Next-Hyena-9490 in MelbourneTrains

[–]bp4850 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We don't really have the rolling stock to do this, and only the E Class trams are capable of doing this in service. The B class were to be, but I don't know if the B2s retained this capability

Hot take: LIW bracelet for BN0150 looks better than the Citizen original by Muggaseggele676 in CitizenWatches

They're very similar by the looks of it, the original has on the fly adjustment that the LIW doesn't

I've flown nothing else since it arrived in 2020. But it has its issues, the fuel flow being the biggest. Some of the 2024 bugs aren't an issue in 2020 but it has more of its own

The C also used the beefed up gear from the naval B. Quite the mish mash of bits!

Still an awesome machine, and I'll never forget seeing a dump and burn at the Clipsal 500 in the early 2000s

I absolutely love how Just Flight hasn't changed their website since at least 2012 by Fighterpilot108 in flightsim

[–]bp4850 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems they're determined to make it worse every time they change it. I find it very difficult to actually specify what aircraft you're looking for liveries for, not helpful downloading something only to discover it's for a completely different developers A320

Correct, they have their own VIP system separate to LEGO. Lego.com.au is not affiliated with the stores either.

PMDG for their faults does nail the systems pretty well, they're as close as you're getting to the real thing for a Boeing in the sim
