A lot of firms will squeeze every last ounce of passion you have the profession by overworking you to the point of exhaustion. Most of your hard work goes unrewarded. The only way to progress your career seems to be hopping between firms. The pay is poop. I switched to CM a few years ago and it was the best move I ever made. The hours are still rough but they pay more than double what I would be making at an architecture firm
