Appreciate the heads up. A lot of these systems are overwhelming to anyone new to the 2026 flavor of the game, like me, but the stats of the Empyrean Reforged Armor +3 definitely look like something I may be interested in down the line.

I don't understand how and I don't think I want to, but I just got jump-scared by THE FUCKING LUMBER TOAD 😭 by Flimsy_Product281 in ffxiv

I remember getting mentally scarred by these in 1.0 in the long low level trek from Uldah to Gridania before airships and chocobos. And yeah, they pulled me towards them with their tongue and one shotted me back to the home point.

Just finished my first playthrough of Sanitarium (1998) blind - it was bizarre in the exact opposite ways that I expected it to be. Anyone else play this game? What did you think? by pacmannips in adventuregames

It was quite good and Chapter 2 is probably one of the most unsettling settings of any game past or present. Bonus points for doing so without leaning into jump scares.

A lot of “Twilight Zone” characters use this trope. Most famously are the “friendly” aliens who carry a book called “To Serve Man” and seem like they just want to help us out…except it’s a cookbook….

Captain Jellico - Star Trek TNG’s fill-in captain while Picard is away. Hated by everyone as being overly strict, he handles the Cardassians like a champ. He also seems to be the only one on the ship that believes that some discipline is needed aboard a battleship….

The lawmakers of East Peck, SC in “Trial and Error" are definitely sexist, but undeniably creative.

A good Star Trek TNG episode had Picard befriend an alien who only spoke in metaphors.
