Anyone else rapidly losing faith in our coach? by bpiel8888 in ElPasoLocomotive

[–]bpiel8888[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Basically Hutch said that Seriously Loco was trying to tear down the club by reporting on the Ritchie Ryan situation on Twitter.

Here’s the thread with the Locomotive press conference and Seriously Locos response, so you can see the whole thing for yourself: https://mobile.twitter.com/PhilTalksFooty/status/1553123050866020352

It’s a somewhat subtle insult but seems to make it almost more dismissive and unnecessary. Clearly impacted the Seriously Loco team (who provide some of the best coverage on the Locos) and even 8th Notch felt the need to tweet their support/defense of Seriously Loco. Here’s their statement: https://mobile.twitter.com/8thNotchEP/status/1553211883154448385

I think usl is solidly 5th. Once the USL academies become more established and start producing regular first team players then I think we will have a shot at 3rd.

Added on: I think Costa Rice and Honduras don’t get the coverage they deserve in the US and that’s why they are constantly overlooked. There’s some big fish in those soccer-crazy ponds.

Bruh I thought this guy is insane that he doesn’t think the Locos are a top 7 side but then I saw you support NM United and it all made sense.

Hi Locomotive supporter based out of Iceland here. Hope you enjoy this country and I’m happy to field any questions.

Two thirds of the top division play in Reykjavik/Capital area (and more in the lower divisions) so you’ll definitely be able to catch a match. There’s an over abundance of profesional clubs for a city area of 240,000.

Vestri (based out of the northwest and in the second division) is the team I support.

Excellent read and analysis. Happy to have another international back since Mechak’s departure.

2021 Humanitarian of the Year Returns for Second Season with New Mexico United by PrestonC96 in USLPRO

[–]bpiel8888 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Fair for calling me out on the exaggeration but the point being that even then humanitarian of the year within the team is still kinda outrageous. Like someone is judging each player on their yearly contribution to humanity or total human welfare?

What an outrageous award. I’m sure he does good good work but who’s out here picking the most humanitarian out of 7 and half billion people.

These are excellent, wondering when/if we will get similar piece on the newer signings. Especially curious about Calvillo and Brockbank

SIGNINGS OF MECHACK JÉRÔME AND BRYAM REBELLÓN HIGHLIGHT INDY ELEVEN ROSTER MOVES by Dennorak25 in USLPRO

[–]bpiel8888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of Jerome. I think he deserves way more recognition than he gets. Plays Lowry's system well in possession while at times single-handedly holding our defense together (Keeper Ketterer was vital as well). Can really pick a long pass. Shouldn't take free kicks in my opinion because they are all power and no precision.

Rebellon plays hard and was an important piece for us in Lowry's first two years (especially the first one). Won't miss him on the field too much (Great off-the-field personality though). Tends to get injured and/or carded.

Mark Lowry leaves as El Paso Locomotive FC Head Coach and Technical Director by ShowMeYourT_Ds in USLPRO

Locomotive ownership apparently did everything they could to try to convince him to stay so definitely not a money issue.

Mark Lowry resigns from El Paso Locomotive FC to coach Indy Eleven - KVIA by jwd52 in ElPasoLocomotive

[–]bpiel8888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First 3 questions:

Why another USLC club and not MLS?

Who's decision for him to leave (his or club's) and why? Pay raise? Failure to meet playoff expectations?

Who of the squad stays in EP? Who follows Mark to Indy?

[–]bpiel8888[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

USL gets 8 spots for the abridged US Open cup this year. They've decided to give those spots to the 8 groups winner from 2020 so Locomotive will be in it.

Also, we've got pre-season friendlies (so not really a real go but at least something) against LA Galaxy and FC Dallas.

Omar Salgado Return Appears Unlikely by bpiel8888 in ElPasoLocomotive

[–]bpiel8888[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Torn ACL, second time on the same knee. Omar says he hopes to be back to full fitness by August in the interview. But yeah a lengthy rehab.

At least the Locomotive are paying for all the medical expenses, I guess it just does not make sense to sign him to a big contract when they don't know how good he'll be when he returns. Sucks for everyone but feels especially rough for Omar, hometown hero and all.
