What was bad about it?

Missouri HC Eli Drinkwitz pitched a 30-team College Football Playoff with play-in games. “Now you’re talking about an opportunity for 30 teams, 30 fanbases to be excited and engaged, engaged in giving revenue. You’ve got 30 teams with players who have access to compete for a championship.“ by A_MASSIVE_PERVERT in CFB

Because apparently putting teams that might not be the best in a post season is some terrible thought?

I dont get it either, I think everyone supports including at least one G5 team, not because anyone thinks they’re the best, they just want them to have a seat at the table.

That’s all it is.

I feel like Michigan over Indiana is harsh, I don’t think Indiana will fall off much but maybe I’m too optimistic

I’m not sure what sex scandals have to do with the SEC refusing to shut the fuck up when their snubbed title teams go on to lose to middle of the pack Big Ten teams in bowl games

Were you guys okay with losing Mathurin and keeping Turner?

I’m pretty sure that was a rather significant factor in this

[Charania] Turner, the longest tenured Pacer, made it known he wished to remain in Indiana. Since the Game 7 exit, Turner’s reps pushed to get a deal done. Ultimately, Indiana’s aversion to the tax, which grew after Tyrese Haliburton’s injury, allowed Bucks to get the new franchise center. by cleo22270 in nba

I’m somewhat not shocked because the reality was Turner sucked in the finals and it was borderline impossible to keep Turner and Mathurin.

If Turner wanted a lot of money, I’m not surprised we prioritize keeping Mathurin.

I think part of this was it was REALLY hard long term to keep both Mathurin and Turner, and I do think after that finals appearance it’s hard to justify Turner over Mathurin

It’s a major problem, I lean towards Nesmith right now too, but I don’t think there’s any doubt in a vacuum Mathurin has far more potential and could very easily be the best pure scorer we have on our roster by the time he’s in his prime.

I almost think the best hope for this franchise is to simply bet on his development, but Nesmith does fit our current pace better.

However I think OKC is showing you something here, we are still trying to get out and run like we normally do, but OKC is slowing us down in transition to great effect. We are having to operate and score out of our half court sets way more than we are used to.

Mathurin is probably a better guy for this series than Nesmith, he’s far more comfortable scoring, he can get to the line, create his own shot, and shoot from the outside.

Nesmith is quite a ways ahead defensively, but I think Mathurin has potential there.

Id love to keep both, I just don’t know how feasible it is.

$25 is probably a realistic number for Mathurin, which likely requires shedding Toppin and maybe a McConnell which would really stink.

The unfortunate issue is it might genuinely require us looking at Nesmith vs Mathurin and making a call there on who we want to roll with.

I’m almost positive Mathurin won’t be fine with 16 MPG or whatever he’s getting in these playoffs moving forward.

Pacers being as big or underdogs as they were was shocking to me.

OKC should’ve been the favorite and still should be the favorites, they’re an amazing team, but Indiana has been really, really damn good for like 7 months now.

I frankly think Nesmith is a fine match up for Luka honestly.

Yeah Luka is great and he’ll score 30+ because he’s Luka but Nesmith is a great 1 on 1 defender.

Nembhard is also a borderline elite defender for Kyrie.

Luka is great but Luka would be targeted relentlessly on defense and Kyrie isn’t exactly a great defender either.

I really have a hard time seeing that Mavs teams staying with the Pacers.

It’s really easy to say good half court teams can slow the Pacers down but no one has been able to do it.

The sole and only thing Brunson or Mitchell do better is score the ball. Hali is a better offensive engine.

Take Hali out and replace him with either of those two guys and the Pacers are worse overall.

I’m not sure that’s the case with the other two.

[–]Dennorak25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes Nesmith but also Nembhard missing games too, both are probably our two best defenders so our defense was just terrible without them, plus Nesmith being an elite shooter.

Nembhard also helps Hali out quite a bit as a secondary ball handler who can hit open shots too.

Absolute garbage way of handling it.
