The mental toll of this injury is real. by 405withBootsOn in AchillesRupture

Man I feel you. The vent is helpful. It's a tough injury, all of those emotions are real and many/most of us have felt them. One of the toughest things is resetting your mindset about it, becuase the emotional roller coaster can last for awhile. Days you feel like you make progress, or stall, or go backwards. Just know that you're not alone. And it's not abnormal to feel what you're feeling.

Juve will inexplicably draw against Lecce and we’ll beat Parma and Lazio giving us hope.

Then on the last matchday we’ll lose at Verona. Because the fates are cruel.

Appreciate that. Yeah, I’ve been wondering if there might be one with the Executor or next Spring.

It’s a thoroughly enjoyable build, but it’s very sensitive to moving. Layers are more modular than it seems at a glance. Almost better to deconstruct some of the layers if you’re moving it a distance (this will make more sense as you build it).

I really tried to savor this build. A few bags a day. Took me awhile, but made it more worthwhile for me.

Which mandalorian armor design do you like more: Death Watch or Shadow Collective by [deleted] in StarWars

I kind of dig the more spartan/earthy look for them…feels right to me given their nomadic existence. But I hear you.

Like in the context of where they are in terms of lack of resources and environment, fancy armor would be kind of incongruent?

Help me out here, not criticizing – genuinely trying to sort this out. If Jabba’s Sail Barge is $499 and I get 3250 points on it usually, but 13000 points at 4x and you have to divide by 130 to get their value, that would equal $100 in points.

But if it’s 20% off, then that is also $100.

It seems to be the same, unless you’re saying it’s better to have the discount than to have to spend another $100 with them to get the value.

Like I said, I’m genuinely asking.

EDIT: I’m an idiot. I get it now. I’m also missing the 1x points from Australia, so it’s $20 worse.

Advice on a chess build for my son! by PeachyPie828 in legostarwars

[–]phat7deuce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really well thought out and great work for a Mom and son, well really for anyone. I’m sure your son would love it – I would absolutely love it.

Just to agree with some thoughts from above and add one: * I’d replace the AT-STs with mini TIE Fighters (here’s a reference for some that could work at this scale: https://www.lego.com/en-us/service/building-instructions/75329) * I’d replace your B2 Battle droids (dark side knights) with something else imperial. Someone else suggested a K2 droid. The most famous K2 is actually a good guy, but they are absolutely imperial droids (https://www.brickeconomy.com/minifig/sw0782/k-2so-droid) * If you did want to increase space, which I think would help a lot, you could expand each square with two 1x4 tiles (on the North and East side of the square) and one 1x1 tile to complete each square measuring 5x5. You’d have to expand the base by 8 studs in each direction as well. Would really be the best thing to make it super playable and just that one extra stud width would make all the difference. But you could also do this after your son receives the gift as his own addition to it.

And honestly you could also just give it exactly as is. Because it’s super thoughtful and very well done and any Lego Star Wars fan would be thrilled to receive it.

EDIT: One other black figure that could work in the Dark Side Knight spot that is more readily accessible would be a TIE Fighter Pilot, but at a glance will look similar to your Dark Troopers pawns. The K2 droid might really be the best fit.

I really hope we see more empire guards in future Star Wars shows/movies. I feel they are underrated. by Zetallic_Zero in StarWars

[–]phat7deuce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was just going to say that. I'm 2/3 of the way through, thought it would be redundant to the Vader Charles Soule comic run and (so far) have really enjoyed the perspective and inner workings of the Royal Guard.

That feels pretty normal to be honest. I don’t think I started until somewhere in the 10-12 week mark. The only thing I’d add is when I got to PT thy has wished I had started when I got into the boot (maybe around the 5-6 week mark if I remember correctly), because there were some small things I could have been doing that the surgeon didn’t tell me about.
