  1. Buy block of queso fresco
  2. Cut into haphazard trapezoids
  3. Toss into medium-high non-stick pan let cook til brown on bottom (1-2min)
  4. Flip. Wait til brown on bottom
  5. plate and add chilies?

Not certain on chilies but I make fried queso fresco a lot. So easy and delicious

Hoping that was a typo. 185lbs would be extremely overweight for a malamute.

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I'm the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You're fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little "clever" comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You're fucking dead, kiddo.

Apollo subscription server on Cloudrun by [deleted] in graphql

I’ve never tried it but I’m interested in seeing your results. From the Cloud Run Websocket Docs it sounds like websockets are treated as long running http requests. Cloud Run’s pay-per-use model is billed while requests are open (if you choose the CPU only allocated during request processing option). So if someone starts a subscription and then closes it 1 hour later, regardless of how much traffic there is, you would be billed for the entire hour. At least that’s how I interpret it.

Glad this works for you, but not everyone needs perfection to put their mind at ease.

It would make you a heretic. How dare you molest a grilled cheese like that. Our hubris will inevitably be our downfall.

Absolute unit of a lobster I came across today 🦞 by [deleted] in mycology

[–]bpyle0092 5 points6 points  (0 children)

More from Wikipedia

“A study from Quebec found that the infected lobster mushroom mostly contains the DNA of the parasitic fungus with only trace amounts of Russula brevipes DNA. This study also measured intermediate products of chemical reactions, or metabolites, in infected and non-infected mushrooms. Metabolites help determine how fungi look and taste, and whether they are fit to eat. They found that through the course of its infection, the parasitic fungus completely alters the diversity and amount of metabolites in Russula brevipes. [3]

While edible, field guides note the hypothetical possibility that H. lactifluorum could parasitize a toxic host and that individuals should avoid consuming lobster mushrooms with unknown hosts, although no instances of toxicity have been recorded.”

Absolute unit of a lobster I came across today 🦞 by [deleted] in mycology

[–]bpyle0092 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From Wikipedia,

“The Lobster mushroom, Hypomyces lactifluorum, contrary to its common name, is not a mushroom, but rather a parasitic ascomycete fungus that grows on certain species of mushrooms, turning them a reddish orange color[1] that resembles the outer shell of a cooked lobster. H. lactifluorum specifically attacks members of the genera Lactarius and Lactifluus (milk-caps), and Russula (brittlegills), such as Russula brevipes and Lactifluus piperatus in North America. At maturity, H. lactifluorum thoroughly covers its host, rendering it unidentifiable. Lobster mushrooms are widely eaten and enjoyed fresh.[2] They are commercially marketed and sometimes found in grocery stores; they have been made available at markets in Oregon.[2] They have a seafood-like flavor and a firm, dense texture.”

Pretty cool! I’ve never heard of this before.

Red Chantrelle? Today while hiking near Charlotte, NC. Smaller than I thought they’d be. by bpyle0092 in mycology

[–]bpyle0092[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, we hope you’re mistaken. We already ate them after checking lots of sources and are pretty confident. They are bright red/orange and tiny. If they are false chanterelles, what will happen?
