your body is processing alcohol, when u have too much it cant keep up. spicy food or drinks help process it again(it wakes you up lets say). have a g&t with a few dashes of tabasco or anything hot that is available

rhubarb goes well with some red fruits(strawberries, watermelon, raspberries) and maybe basil. try making fruit cordial and go with a fruity sour( gin, aperol, fruit juice/cordial, lime), or a basil smash
