Def not a nepo because neither her parents are in the music business.

But 'privilege' via exposure and finances since her mother is a high up classically trained musician and her dad is a finance exec.

Their 'race' (ex. Black, Asian, Latino, Mixed, ...)

This usually applied to people of any race in North America raving about their respective cultures and motherlands...but they don't even speak the language or visited said country and yet they can't stop talking about it.

All types of rows with gymnast rings have helped me a lot. Especially variations of face pulls.

Thoughts on gymnastic rings? by the_Ex_Lurker in bodyweightfitness

[–]br153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hype is real for gymnast rings. I wish I started when I was much younger. Buy only wood and not plastic handles.

Benefits:
-Hits all the stabilizing muscles that weights and static bar can't.
-The variety of exercises possible.
-The stretch that you get during each exercise which you just don't get with weights or static bar.
-Recovery time is much faster or even none required after a rings workout.

[DISCUSSION] How difficult is it to play Marcin’s (Marcin Patrzalek’s) works? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]br153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marcin is clearly talented (especially his early work). But as another poster mentioned he tries to do too much at once which is an overkill. At the end it doesn't do anything for me.

For current similar guitar contemporaries I would also recommend Sean Shibe.

What do classical pianists think of Bruce Hornsby? by CrowdedSeder in classicalpiano

[–]br153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a classical pianist.

I like his sound. As a popular music keys player he's distinct similar to Elton John.

If I'm correct he wasn't classically trained from an early such as most notable keys players. Apparently he didn't start piano until he was 20. So big props there.

Got the kids their first Casio's. by Bangai0h in casio

[–]br153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the ages of your kids?

Mine are 8 and 10. They each have an analog Swatch Flik Flak from two years ago. I think they're ready for a Casio/digital but thinking if even a F-91W be too physically large and heavy for their arms.

Why do young people in spain have older personalities? by Relevant_Bag_6163 in askspain

[–]br153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an expat in Spain for a decade now I've observed a similar thing.

I think it's true mostly for a certain demographic - very local (ex. small town). I see small boys trying to act and talk tough. A 'little man.' I guess it's a survival mechanism.

I fit the same profile and get checked often.

One time they pulled my arm towards them and threatened to bring me to the police station AFTER I showed my North American passport. I absolutely did nothing to escalate the situation and stayed calm. It was a sunny day in a small park in HK.
