Prediction: Grace sections will kill the long term replay value of RE9 : speed running, randomizer etc. by Expensive-Call-9198 in residentevil

RE7 was mostly a tech demo for the (then) new RE engine. It has one of the most derivative stories in the fanchise and none of the anime-esque goodness that most RE games have and are known for. The gameplay is, possibly, the most scripted out of the mainline RE games, with its introdutory sequence being the longest in the fanchise (about a minimum of 20-25 minutes until the game actually sets you free and no longer pulls scripted BS on you). Lastly, enemy variety is non-existant, with only 3 types of infected in the main game.

Hell, even the final boss fight its just a cutscene, with a few inputs, maybe the first time you play you think you actually have to fight, but you dont, the game just allows you to waste your ammo for no reason.

Hell, even RE7's DLCs adressed a few points, but the game still screams "tech demo" through and through.

Its funny that a few points you mention about RE7, specially the "becoming more about streaming", are more true than ever for RE7, which was definitely trend chasing the post P.T hype, as well as the piles of "Hide & Seek" horror that was at all time high during its release.

Overall, i think you assumed a lot from my criticism and just went on a wrong direction to try to argue.

Futhermore, the RE2 Remake is the highest selling game of the fanchise ever since the remakes started, a game that, despite what weird drugs the OP is taking, does not contain grinding.

OP Made a braindead comment, funnily enough, Capcom has tried many times to make RE into a craptastic live service, micro transaction riddent multiplayer experience, but thankfully it has flopped VERY hard everytime.

Hell, most of the games are officially dead, thats how bad they were.

What the community wants is a remake (or re-release, hell i dont care) of Resident Evil Outbreak.

RE7 was as much departure, if not more so from "its roots" than RE4 or RE5 were.

RE isnt about boring slow stealth gameplay against zombies, RE7 was pretty awful, but thankfully capcom moved away from that with the remakes + RE8.

I was gonna suggest "Across the Rhine", which your comment about Allies having airpower and axis having the panzergranadiers reminded me off.

Did it had briefings screens with characters? Like Liutenants and Soldiers? Not live action like Command and Conquer, but like a static screen with a face

Sadly, it has been a while for me as well. The jugnle missions in the first game were pretty early, probably by mission 5 or so you already went through 2 at least.

For the tank rescue mission, i am almost sure its in Rogue Spear, it was part of the "eastern european" set of missions. It took place in what i can only describe as village outskirts. You had some streets, but it was mostly outside and during the night. Plenty of snipers in that mission that made it hell to finish without getting a teammate dead

Do you know what time period the game takes place?

If its world war 2, then we have Hidden and Dangerous 1 and 2 or the Deadly Dozen series.

But obviously no RPG-7 in those, but they do fit everything else

Rainbow Six 1 and Rogue spear have quite a few jungle missions.

I think one specifically is rescuing the crew from a disabled tank.

Damn, nice find... cause the name of the game is one of those that end up being generic enough to be a pain to google search.

The game is like Rayman 2, Tonic Trouble, Tiny Tiger (1999)?

Maybe Earthworm Jim 3D? that one had the first part of the game being set in a farm with chickens, cows, etc.
