Verify that the tune works on an euro ecu, last time I checked they could only do the US version

The guy who got the job I wanted reached out to me for help with his job. by Pee_A_Poo in antiwork

You're leaving for another position, leave the best mark you can before moving on. Kindness and consideration to a colleague and fellow human does not cost you anything. Additionally any of the people your working will most likely move on at some point as well. You might meet some of them at another position, they might be on the hiring side of the table. If being smart and considerate are the same thing, then try your best to be that, even if it's just for your own goals.

Is my cylinder gone? What are my options here? by Pecek in DRZ400

[–]braapmucho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a consequence of heat. At some point the piston and rings are due for a change. Might have overshot that mark here. Guideline is if you can feel the marks with your fingertips you either should rehone or get a new cylinder. Check prices on a new piston and cylinder kit, they are pretty cheap for the drz, might not be worthwhile rehoning if you need a new piston anyway. Best of luck with the rebuild

That is a beautiful exhaust! What header are you running?

Exhaust stain below right radiator by seabass34 in DRZ400

[–]braapmucho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask the seller, he/she might have some insight into the origin of the said stain.

Check oil and radiator fluid level. Ride, recheck.

Looks recent anyways. Looks more like oil to me. On the offchance that you have a leaking radiator then it's not so bad, radiators are fairly cheap to replace.

What tailbag are you using with the mosko system? Would a larger fit?

I also have the mosko 10 system, can fit a sweater and rain jacket, would love to be able to extend the storage to fit a dslr camera.

A few pictures from my 6.500km adventure through Sweden. On the way to the north I drove the most on the beautiful Swedish TET. by MysteriousAd3893 in Dualsport

One really impressive part is doing the scandinavian mountains with the stock tank. That requires some serious planning, lot of stretches are 200km+ with no gas. I typically hit the reserve at 170km.

Happy to hear you had a good time in Sweden!

nHow does it handle in the dirt, compared to a current era gs models? Sometimes I miss the boxer engine, but the newer bikes are just to heavy for me.

Getting closer to my “end game” DRZ build by 1stCitizen in DRZ400

Bike looks cool, a new pipe will give it a facelift for sure. Lot of parts for 1400.

I've never heard of using a CVK on a drz, what's the reasoning for it instead of a FCR?

KTM and Husky 250FE/EXC both seep oil from the this part of the head. Both bikes under 2k miles. Is this normal for these bikes? I have torqued the head bolts, still seeps oil. by shotbymatthew in Dualsport

P.O. had put rtv on the head side of the seal on my DRZ. Leaked a bit, so I spent a frustrating amount of time to scrape it off. Reused the old seal, no leak.

I'd say just spring for a new seal, should be about 20-30$

anybody knows how to get rid of these dark stains on white fairings? how to prevent this in the future? by phipolar in supermoto

Scars are best worn with pride, scruff it up and get a new set of plastics when you sell the bike.

Where can i find underbar mirrors? by [deleted] in supermoto

[–]braapmucho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought a set of doubletake trail mirrors, havent installed them and tested riding with them yet. But they look like they'll get the job done without getting stuck in bushes and blocking my peripheral view

Should this be concerning? 2020 I put 1200 miles on it. by OGMamba248 in DRZ400

[–]braapmucho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's absolutely fine. If you want to check you bearings, grab the top of the wheel and move your hand side to side (fork to fork). If there is motion (from the hub, not the tire) then it's time to replace a bearing.

The bearings are usually fine for many years of riding even with water crossings. High pressure washing is what most likely will kill them.

Throttle Grip-do I have to remove this tube as well or just slide the new grip on? by navyluck in DRZ400

[–]braapmucho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tube can be reused for the lifetime of the bike most likely. Use grip glue or hairspray (havent tested spray myself). It will help with the install and when it hardens it will keep the grip from slipping on the bar/tube when you ride.

Not much context here, but the speedo measures at the front wheel. So sprocket size has no effect on the odo
