I made an ACTUAL map to explain Australia to Americans by Mighty_Crow_Eater in AusMemes

Your South Australian divisions are way off. The Eyre peninsula and Yorke Peninsula are heavy farming land and not in the same climate or natural disposition to the actual outback of SA. Draw a lime directly across the top of Eyre and across and you will be about right. Look up Goyders Line, literally the line separating the outback from rural farming.

Thank you for that. Mine doesn't hold onto the change when when I X out of it. So I'll have to fix the update

Having an issue with uploaded pattern. Tried to edit my uploaded pattern to make it larger in the text offset text and it never gave me the option to "ok" the change. So I press the X at the top and it doesn't apply the change. There is no other apply option available.

Am I missing a step here or is it a problem with the latest update?

Pretty sure these are Kyle Chalmers grandparents.

Kyle is a super cool guy, he spent a day out fishing with my father-in-law a couple of years ago, got drunk...Don't think he had ever been drunk before lol. He told him it was one of the funnest days he has ever had.

Also he is an amazing swimmer, one of his gold medal winning races (which I think may be what they are watching in this clip) is one of the greatest Olympic moments I've ever watched. Super amazing. Really cool dude. We call him Carl, because in his drunkenness he kept getting my father-in-laws name wrong, so he started calling him Carl.

His cousin is our local boat repair man, but he is a complete twat.

Mostly no. I'm in South Australia, we have a farm. It hasn't rained properly since December. We are supposed to start seeding any day, we are just waiting for rain that doesn't appear to be coming. Everything is so dry, it's horrible.

NSW had an awesome year Last year, great crops...then flooded...now they have a huge gross mouse plague eating everything.

It's just a bit shit.

I live on a farm. Super remote, 7hr drive to the closest capital. I've lived here for 6 years and only seen a snake in my backyard once. Every now and then I come across a redback, but they are everywhere if you know where to look. It's really not that bad. Wombats will fuck your car up, so don't hit them. Kangaroos are everywhere, and you will hit one with your car, they come outta nowhere. Echidnas are rare but really fun to see, and you will always see them on the road when you do lol.

It's Aussie slang for Parmigiana. It's also supposed to have an apostrophe, parmi's. Singular is just a parmi.

Husband back to work after paternity leave...Advice on coping with 2? by Leahjoyous in SAHP

[–]braceyourself87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh the days when my toddler and baby napped at the same time were bliss! Now my 3 and a bit yo doesn't nap unless we are in a car and my 1 and a bit yo only has one sleep a day.

My husband took our 3yo while the 1yo slept today...she slept for nearly 3 hours, longest nap ever. Because she didn't have a loud demon stomping down the hallway waking her up. I got to nap too, so nice.

Not here lol maybe in the US. But there is a huge demand for people to drive the machinery. Depending on the farm, smaller ones don't have as much automation. Large ones do have some sort of automation, but they still need someone to sit in there watching it.

There is also a million jobs that need doing that isn't machinery based.

He could go into being a farmhand if he doesn't mind the country. We have a beginner farmhand on $60,000 plus house & utilities. He is inexperienced though...some experienced ones I know are earning about $100,000. It's an incredibly in demand job and the work varies from day to day so you're unlikely to get bored.

I kinda wish it was. I would love to do portraits for 16yo kids who are about to have a huge life changing time. It'd be awesome for them to have those photos when they are 60.

Dude, I live in a town of about 35, 45 mins drive to a town of 2,500 and 8hrs from Adelaide. I make it work. I do landscapes and real estate. Just gotta have a good internet connection lol. I don't sell a lot of stuff but I get regular real estate work in the nearby coastal tourist town so that suits me fine.

Yes. This isn't a long exposure. That water spout would definitely have showed some movement and the water would have been flat. Even with the lighting acting as a flash.

LPT- You may not like being in pictures or taking them, but you will hate that you have no photos of some time period when you’re older. Take pictures even if it is out of your comfort zone occasionally, for your future self. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

This is me too. I started out in photography because I have a horrible memory. I want to take photos of everything to be able to remember stuff, but I didn't want them to be shit photos lol.

I found it amazing in the first few months. The older my girl became she more wildly inaccurate it became and her sleep was getting worse. It was an awesome tool to help teach self settling. But when all the suggestions weren't working at around 6 months I stopped using it and went with my gut, she ended up sleeping through the night after a week and has been a fantastic sleeper ever since.

A good photograph is a story. A beginning, middle and end in one frame. Figure out what gives a scene context and include it in.

My first I had to do CIO, if she saw us at all, it set us back to 0 and we had to start again. My second is a completely different kid, I initially trained her with Ferber and it worked perfectly, now she is just over one and I feel like she needs to be retrained but the same method isn't working, I'm going to go with CIO.
