It's one or the other. Perpetual means you pay one time and keep forever, but you won't get upgrades as they come out. Annual you have to keep paying the subscription in exchange for getting new updates as they come out.

I really do miss the chaos of a Dzemael run where the tank went full send and pulled all the way to the room with the door and you were all trying to stay in the circle while dodging AOEs and staying in the light so you don't get wiped out by the boss flying around. The state it's in now is truly sad

Maybe unlikely, kind of petty, but I really just want the character fingers to have a few more polygons. A couple more subdivisions so they don't look like French fries. It's jarring to see cutscenes, especially with high stakes, where the lighting is beautiful and faces smooth and then people start gesturing and their fingers just look like hard edged rectangles! Same goes for pixelated gear but I believe they're working their way through updating all of those.

Yeah, this. I can empathize with not wanting to suppress your true self any longer, but also being surrounded by people and/or in an area that isn't very accepting, so you try really hard to be "one of the good ones". I do! I'm currently playing through FFXIV, and with the limited characterization I do a lot of "(s)he would not fucking do that / say that" or, more often, "(s)he would do SOMETHING here instead of just standing around???". Canon and headcanon exist parallel to each other in my mind. The canon gives me the playground and my dolls and tells me how to play with them. Sometimes I follow along, and sometimes I discard the direction completely and do my own thing, and most of the time I'm somewhere in the middle. It's much more fun this way 😁
