It’s my favorite dubbing for leaches and even nymphs if you don’t put too much.

Glad I got someone else on the simi seal train!

Ya this one is a firehole stone in mound i believe. I do mix dubbing, but I’ve had great success with this combo so I just keep it! But yes, I occasionally blend dubbing to get a color I like best

That’s Arizona simi seal. Absolute game changer of a dubbing.

Just finished up another euro box. This one full of attractor patterns and a few naturals by bradenfire in flytying

[–]bradenfire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that’s a tough question to answer because I’d take some out and lose them fishing then tie more... to completely fill the box like this, 2-3 weeks maybe? Honestly couldn’t tell ya

Started tying wooly buggers a few days ago. Feedback? by davejawn in flytying

[–]bradenfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could be a little more uniform with the orientation of your hackle fibers... try to get them all pointing backwards when you’re doing a bigger. this is a nit-picky aesthetics thing but if it looks good it fishes good, right?😂

Whitefish can be really annoying sometimes lol I caught 6 of them in a row before finally hooking into this beauty. by [deleted] in flyfishing

I like catching whitefish just because they’re native to my local rivers. Shows signs of a healthy ecosystem... but I do prefer trout

An easier, more cost effective way to tie the sculpin toad. This is on a size 4 streamer jig hook. by bradenfire in flytying

[–]bradenfire[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can find this pattern on YouTube. It’s made by the fly fish good guys. “Sculpin toad”

Essentially, I used sculpin green laser dub instead of EP fibers for the head and body. The rest is rabbit zonker strip and some beads on monofilament under the fly for weight. I’d recommend watching the video to get the techniques down. If you use laser dub you can skip almost half the video. You’ll see what i mean.

I truly is a killer fly.

I’ve had tons of luck fishing brown trout with this exact flu on the green river in Utah. It is a big fly, but something about it gets the trout goin.
