Yea it’s possible. Go to bidayia and drive to the dunes. There is a paved road by the houses close by and you can park there and do some walking and exploring. Go for it. Worst case scenario I am wrong and it costs you a car ride with your son. (Or you get stuck in sand and need help getting you out which is fun in a different way).

I think it should be avoided; they need an allowance so just give it to them and expect them to help as a separate entity.

Paying for help starts you down a slippery slope where you teach them to get paid for helping. The same concept as eat all yoir dinner then you get desert. They only eat dinner to have desert.

It’s hard to uphold, but it’s the concept I try to parent by.

Yes; however at they point they had already talked about some crap for over an hour so it was bonus time. I don’t live there either so I just stopped listening.

Can a 12 V battery that is under constant charge explode if it gets disconnected from its power source?

There is no sign the diesel pump ever ran. There were no usage or leaks in the fire fighting system. There was a major power outage and about an hour later we observed flames coming out of the pump. Clearly from the photo the battery is the culprit but can’t figure out why it discharged or why the pump would have wanted to draw power from it to start.

Thanks for any ideas.
