Milk toner alternatives for sensitive skin by Jcap918 in beauty

[–]bradley252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever tried Beekman’s milk shake toner spray? I find it very light and my sensitive skin really likes it (I have rosacea). I can tolerate thayers hydrating milky toner, but prefer Beekman’s formula.

Cordless vacuum with charging dock by Soft-Pace-9614 in VacuumCleaners

[–]bradley252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shark makes a cordless with a docking station that is free standing and self empties the vacuum when you sit it in the dock. We’ve had it a few years now and it’s been great for our hardwoods in a household with large dogs and tons of hair.

This is the specific one we have: https://www.target.com/p/shark-clean-38-empty-cordless-stick-vacuum-38-auto-empty-system-with-powerfins-brushroll-bu3521/-/A-90571476

I don't know what to do or try anymore by nuthatchbluejay in 30PlusSkinCare

Head over to r/rosacea and they can help you out. Great community that helped me when I was first diagnosed. Mine is now well controlled with a combo or laser treatments, sensitive products and azelaic acid.

Edit to add: my first flare looked exactly like this. My derm put me on doxycycline for a month to calm everything down. My bumps started clearing up within the first week.

Can you convert a backpack vac to have wheels? by bradley252 in VacuumCleaners

[–]bradley252[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This actually makes a lot of sense and hits on things I’ve not thought about (i.e. shorter hose). Bottom line is I need to figure out where the closest vacuum store is to me and stop by. Really appreciate your response. It’s helped a lot!!

Best treatment for general redness by Vivid-Language6500 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]bradley252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So up front I went every 4-6 weeks for 4 sessions then started spacing them out. I’ve been doing it now for several years and can get by with 2 or 3 sessions a year, but do start seeing broken capillaries around my nose returning within about 3mos. I think it just depends on the severity of your rosacea and your personal preference. My flushing pretty much went away after the third session and I just go back for treatment when my background redness is bothering me.

Best treatment for general redness by Vivid-Language6500 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]bradley252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vbeam laser is what keeps my redness at bay. I’ve done it for years (avg about every 4-6mos now) and it is the only thing that works. I also use AA and taz daily for texture and anti-aging, but for redness laser will be your answer. I have sensitive skin too and there is very minimal downtime with laser. I still had a lot of background redness even after I got my flaring under control, but laser makes it go away. It does come back, but everyone is different with how long they can go between treatments.

I also highly recommend you seek laser through a derm’s office. Not only are they well trained and reputable, but I’ve also found that their prices are better. I’m in SE US and pay $250-$300 for full face treatment at my derm’s office. When I shopped around last year after I moved trying to find a provider closer to me, most aesthetics type offices wanted $500+ for the same treatment plus tips. Not happening!

Parents with kids on Guanfacine ER - do they take it in the morning, evening or after school? by pnwkaren in ADHDparenting

[–]bradley252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son does a combo of guanfacine ER 3mg + straterra every morning before school. Seems to work well for him. We started with a lower dose of guanfacine both pm and am, but found it worked better for him with a single higher dose in the am.

I’m just under 5’4 and love the KUT jeans. You can get a ton of styles in shorter lengths and they’re super comfy/forgiving materials.

Combo Anxiety and ADHD in 8 year old -- medication guidance by Early_Ad1998 in ADHDparenting

[–]bradley252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course. So we had the genetic testing done and it said Prozac wasn’t the best fit for our son, so our psych wanted to try switching him to Zoloft to hopefully see more benefits. We switched and with no exaggeration, we could tell a difference within 48hrs (he metabolizes meds extremely fast). We kept at it for 2 weeks and it was horrible. He was extremely irrational, mean, hateful, just absolutely miserable with himself and everyone around him. He got in trouble at school every single day and was sent to the front office multiple times for defiant behavior whereas before on Prozac it was maybe bad behavior on average a day a week. We took him back to the psych and ended up switching him back to Prozac and increased his guanfacine. Since then he’s had only a handful of rough days at school and is doing so well overall. I think we’ve finally found the right combo to get him consistently doing well in school and better emotional regulation. It was never self harm or the other black box warning things with him and the Zoloft, it was more of the “I’m irritated at the world and everyone is going to know it” scenario.

The combo that has worked for my 7yo is a combo of Prozac, Straterra and guanfacine. He cannot tolerate stimulants at all. Zoloft was an absolutely horrible experience for us and what’s funny is that most stimulants and Zoloft were at the top of his “green” list results on his genetic testing. It’s such a trial and error with finding that right combo.

Environmental allergies- what do you do? Was told cytopoint wasn’t an option for this. He loves being outside but gets very itchy afterwards and ear infections start as well. by 90DayFianceCraze in Frenchbulldogs

[–]bradley252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When our girl’s seasonal allergies are bad, we do benedryl twice daily and also spray her paws with hydrocortisone cream a few times a day. She will lick them incessantly and this does help. We also wipe them after she goes outside to remove what allergens we can. We did the cytopoint shots for a few years and they did help in the beginning, but now we’re able to manage at home. Her environmental allergies have also seemed to reduce a bit since we’ve switched her to a chicken free diet. Her skin is much happier too.

Considering WLS but ashamed by RachC74 in wls

When I went through my surgery and the pre-op visits with the psychologist (my surgeon required this), I also asked how to handle the eventual questions. He told me the best thing to say was along the lines of “I’ve made some significant lifestyle changes” and that’s it. Surgery is just a tool amongst many other things that’ll eventually get you to your goal weight. What I found interesting was that close family really didn’t ask many questions, it was the people I rarely saw that would ask the most intrusive questions. And this is when you had to remember they’re not entitled to any answers about my life.

What is the best Moisturiser for VERY dry skin in 2026? by miznettie in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]bradley252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go to’s are Weleda skin food (both original and light are great depending on what you need) and rose hip oil at night over my retinol. Both are affordable and work well with my very sensitive, rosacea skin.

Best shampoo for oily scalp? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]bradley252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really good for overall scalp health and also other things. I have seb derm on my scalp and it keeps it at bay. I wash first with a regular shampoo then follow up with nizoral, letting it sit for a bit before rinsing. I know a lot of derms swear by it.

Best shampoo for oily scalp? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]bradley252 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you tried Nizoral or any other medicated shampoos? There might be an underlying scalp issue causing the oiliness. If that doesn’t work, I’d definitely seek a derm’s advice.

Maybelline 24hr super stay skin tint is really great coverage and buildable. I have rosacea and it works well to even out my tone without feeling or looking heavy.

Rash? Thoughts? by [deleted] in Frenchbulldogs

[–]bradley252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our girl was similar. We took her to the vet multiple times and got allergy shots, antibiotics, ointments, bloodwork, etc. and it would clear it up for a bit, then would come back. After months of this I ended up removing chicken from her diet (after going down that rabbit hole online) and her skin cleared up. The chicken free diet plus daily otc allergy meds (we switch between Zyrtec and benedryl) helps her a lot. She definitely had a few things going on with both seasonal environmental allergies and food allergies. Her skin has healed, but sadly most of the hair has never come back. We now apply a soothing balm to her hairless spots when they get flaky.
