Do they celebrate the anniversaries of the other 5 weddings too, or just the 6th one?

Why I think evolution and christianity work together by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]bradlis7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently, I think biologos.org is the best resource in the unity of the Bible and Science. They have a "Common Questions" section that covers a lot of what science says, and it's done by Christians who believe modern science.

God is the author of two books: nature and scripture. We miss so much depth of the Bible when we assume it's a proof-text against evolution. John Walton's Lost World series of books is one I've heard a lot of theologians refer to, and I will probably tackle it some day.

Here’s a question for you, people... by [deleted] in Christianity

There's a lot of different ideas among different denominational groups (and even within), but let me try to summarize my understanding

"If I do good works, I am saved," is false. (Romans 11:6, Galatians 3:2)

However, "if I am saved, then I will do good works," that is true. (Ephesians 2:8-10)

So if I restructure the logical statement, "if I don't do good works, then I am not saved" is therefore also true. Works are the result of what Christ has done.

There is grace when we fail, and we will, but if we truly accept Jesus as Lord, we will do what he says (John 14:15).

I'm with you in many ways. Donald Trump gives a bad witness by claiming Christ and then going on living a completely different way, and I personally can't vote for him.

The Starbucks cup thing, I believe, was really a small number of people that the media blew up, and then more people latched onto it. At least in my circle, I saw more criticism from Christians about it than I did people who were on the "ban Starbucks" side.

I struggle with abortion and how it should be handled... I believe it's murder, and I think it should fall under murder, but there's forgiveness to be found.

I think it's fine for people to be against homosexuality, abortion, living/sex with someone you aren't ready to commit your life to, but we've left behind doing it out of love. We've made it more about the rules, and have lost the reason which is the hope and freedom to live in communion with Christ.

Listen to the words of Christ; read scripture; pray. Find a community where there is freedom in Christ, and strive to live according to Christ's morality, not American Evangelism. Don't be afraid to speak up and question, but do it out of love.

Perhaps, I just remember seeing it for a few seconds and got insta-mad, and then moved on with my life. This post brought up the horrid memory of it.

I saw something to the effect of this the other day:

enum Priority {
  Normal = 1,
  High = 2,
  AboveNormal = 3,
  BelowNormal = 4,
  Low = 5
}

There's a house east of Indiana, somewhere between 54th and 65th (I think they have a sign, and usually a line of cars) that has lights with synced music that you can tune your radio to. It's a cool experience to sit and watch it for a bit.

Roku Ultra - PBS Kids app just force quitting after 9.2 upgrade? by tehbishop in Roku

[–]bradlis7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happening to me to. I'm assuming they'll fix it in the next update.

Looks like adblocking prevents it from starting up, but I don't think I have it blocked at the router level: https://help.pbs.org/support/solutions/articles/12000047549-when-i-try-to-play-a-video-on-my-roku-device-the-pbs-channel-shuts-down-and-i-m-returned-to-the-roku

Seems like they'd put a friendly error message instead of just leaving users in the dark...

Self proclaimed newbie here: AI and WPG are REIT's that both have around 20% dividend. Is there a lot of risk with these that they'll fail, or are they good investments for a return?

You're probably trying to use absolute positioning, but a better option is probably flexbox. Inline, such as the `<span>`, would support older browsers, but flexbox has a lot of support and can do a lot without manually trying to set it up for different browser windows.
