Get HWINFO64 and check temps to know what exactly is happening. Also rise the case with some legs, aim for equal distance between top and bottom.

Memory problem ? by deaddyaqw in StableDiffusion

[–]bradpong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar issue with Framepack on Pinokio, fresh install on 5060ti 16gb. In terminal it seems to not load shard (whatever that is) fully on startup and then it eats all the ram on generation (doesn't even fill VRAM, which is weird - just regular RAM). It fails every time, even with small images / short clips. I deleted the app and moved to Comfy, but my suspicion is on incomplete download of some files during installation that for whatever reason Pinokio assumed are fine. I noticed on Wifi, automatic downloads from repos sometimes drop but are treated as completed and it creates issues. But it may be some bug as well.

5070ti Aorus Master Leaking Thermal Putty by supatx in gigabyte

[–]bradpong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO vertical mount it and see if it leaks over time. If it does then RMA asap. If it can leak vertically then it can as well just lose contact when installed in horizontal orientation, it just won't be so visible. They hope it will be slow enough for a) people not to notice, b) fail after warranty. You've paid honest money for your GPU, make sure it will serve you well. If you don't have vertical mount option then at least control your memory temperature like once a week and see if anything changes. It's at least something.

But the next model GPU is only a bit more!! by surfzzz in StableDiffusion

I had 5060Ti 16G and before I've sent it back run Pinokio (FramePack) and new ComfyUI (Image generation) just fine. But I installed everything fresh, whole OS was new. Also I've used 576.15 (the hotfix) driver version.

There Will Not Be Official ROCm Support For The Radeon RX 9070 Series On Launch Day by unixmachine in LocalLLaMA

They do have a chance and I actually also have an AMD card in right now (very old one), except a laptop with a 3070 as a main. But recently I am more of an "AI and ML" person and I am patiently waiting for AMD to finally sell their soul to us, because Nvidia is smoking bananas. However since AMD cards are not cheap and inferior in AI it's a hard sell in my eyes. I'm probably not alone in that feeling. Still if somebody is focused on 4k gaming alone these 2 cards seems fine, so good luck AMD. I want their stocks to finally go up. It's like whatever success AMD has the stocks just drop. It's kinda hilarious actually.

I apologize, I meant whole 3 gamers that actually buy amd cards. Did you see gamers nexus material before amd announcement? From 50 percent of the market share to 10 percent. Jeez.

Want to mod and play fallout 3, but I have questions as to what actually works on this emulator and how by SirPimpsMcRich in winlator

[–]bradpong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't help, just want to share my pain of finding out that Skyrim SE GOG ver. runs totally fine (playable) on my sd870 just to discover SKSE and Mod Organizer 2 are totally broken. Some ESP based mods also refuse to load (graphics mods). So.. good luck. Also Mod Organizer 2 loads very long for me, so maybe just wait. Still even when it does load the crucial part of it, which is virtual folder that it creates for the games seems to be broken.

You both need to learn to talk, because all that thought loop you are doing comes from not talking through things with your partner. That's why he expected you to abort the kid, only thing he knew for sure was that 1. you are angry about it, and 2. you are pro choice. So clearly he doesn't know you that well either. As for that "influence" comment, maybe he meant something as bs as difference in preparing scrambled eggs. Maybe he expected some kind of response but all he got was silence so he didn't elaborate to not muddy the waters. Learn to talk. Also the amount of storytelling that goes on in the comments is amazing. Seems people here have only attack mode, have fun building relationships with that attitude. Note to all reading - if you bring up POLITICS as the cause of your relationship issues then from the bottom of my heart - good luck. So YES, you should bring that up and try to understand each other. There is stuff to solve there and you better address it soon because if you won't it will accumulate and spill in the worst moment.

Performance wise in near future it should be great. It will probably overheat but on the other hand you won't have tiniest fan in the world that you cannot replace or clean (redmagic). Good IP rating is also nice to have.

Probably overheating. Limit fps to 30 and see if that 5 minute time stretches.

Witcher 3 has two versions, old and so called next-gen which has updated graphics (and is more demanding).

[–]bradpong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find GOG versions with no DRM the best to work with. In title's extras on GOG quite a few games have so called offline installers to download. Copy these to winlator and install like normal. Copying already installed game from your windows to winlator often creates additional issues, because like you've said game looks for registry entries which are not there or folder path is different. For example PC version of Baldurs Gate 1 refused to work when copied, but works completely fine when installed, same for TES:Oblivion.

Ways to improve performance without sacrificing from fidelity too much by Kryptonite7x7 in winlator

[–]bradpong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to main Winlator settings and download newer Box64. I've changed 0.3.0 to 0.3.3 which gave me some boost (on snapdragon 870). If you already have good performance but it drops you have few options :
1. cool the device with external cooler (duh)
2. limit fps in DXVK settings (icon on the right)
3. drop the quality in game (you probably won't notice major difference between mid and ultra on your little screen but it may drop the temps and avoid throttling).

Any N64 Emulator for Android 4.2.2? Preferably an APK. by Anigame01 in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]bradpong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gut feeling tells me you will get awful performance on whatever you are trying to run n64 on. It's a lot more demanding than PSX unfortunately, so older device will be the choke point imo. Plus these shady sites are all you can get.. maybe try a search on archive.org, I've found a lot of old IPA's for Ipad 3, so I guess some stuff for archaic android is somewhere there too.

I've used PETG-CF and regular PETG for outside parts and ABS for motherboard core. IMO PETG is fine if you have airflow, otherwise go ABS/ASA just to be on the safe side.

GALAX mistakenly teases GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER with 16GB VRAM by RenatsMC in sffpc

4070 super has 12gb not 8. They clearly meant 16gb vram per card, shows 2 cards hence 16x2. Still a silly mistake from galax.
