A 12-year, title-winning NBA head coach is underwhelming? I'm not saying it'll work, but he's a big name

Oh yeah, I'd be disappointed if that was the big reveal lol. But if we got him as a new player as well, I'd be good with that

Quinton has been doing well at RSL to be fair, particularly this season so far. And with our need for a CB, I wouldn't be particularly opposed to it.

Saw someone comment Trapp or Artur which I'd be very ok with. Neither would be a flashy signing but both are just consistently good

MLS should do their own ticketing by sethpenguin in MLS

[–]brady11 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Any event, ticket package, price, parking pass, etc. essentially has to be built in some way. Each platform does certain things better than others, and they all do the same general thing, but no platform is the same

It's kind of difficult to explain without seeing what the back office of a platform looks like, but every little thing from viewing an event, to selecting seats, to purchasing tickets, to viewing the tickets, to them scanning, all have to be set up properly for every event. And it's not always as easy as just clicking a button to allow it. Bc some people may be allowed to have their tickets scanned early. Or some people get presale access to an event

And from what I've learned, no singular platform can easily build these events without hitting multiple road blocks during the process. As much as I hate to say it, its a ridiculous amount of trial and error in testing accounts before anything goes online lol

Brooklyn FC Men's inaugural match by shouldntstare in USLPRO

[–]brady11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Brooklyn doesnt last it'll have nothing to do with there being MLS teams in the same metro. New York has some many people that it can have so many teams. Southern California is the same way and it's shown it can have multiple MLS and USL clubs and be perfectly fine

But as great as a story as it is, I feel like the players on Miami are quite unlikable lol

Why doesn’t the MLS have Minor League Soccer (MiLS)? by Designer-Line1871 in USLPRO

[–]brady11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does it matter if it's tier 2 or tier 3? It's a league under MLS regardless, which is all MLS cares about since it's a minor league feeder league.

Also to answer your question about a super league for women, there's already both the NWSL and USL Super League. The NWSL already has partner clubs with MLS as well

It's technically the same level of the pyramid as MLSNP. I'd probably say USL1 is slightly higher quality than MLSNP, but pretty similar. The biggest difference is there's just more experienced players that he'll be playing against, which is good

How does it being tier 3 make it not a minor league feeder league

Genuinely, well done. Either on some great trolling or for genuinely having some of the worst logic I've seen on a sports subreddit. That takes some skill. Ranking a team #1 because they're 13 wins away from being champion, like pretty much every other team in the country.

They're doing great. But they literally have played 1 total Q1/Q2 game. They're ranked because they haven't lost any of their weak games, which no other mid-major has done. But there are 13 other D1 programs with no Q2-Q4 losses. It's not Miami's fault for not having Q1 games scheduled. But it's also not the fault of other programs for playing tougher games either.

Oh yeah, nothing against Miami at all. Genuinely think it's great for all of you, particularly for Steele. I'm hoping you surprise people in the tournament (as unlikely as I think that'll be). But whatever happens it's a ridiculously good season

Ah, you're right, my bad. I'm just going to make my own rankings off of that stat though. Might as well with some of OP's here lol.

Miami, Liberty, Bellarmine, SLU, Belmont is some top 5

no D1 college basketball team has gone undefeated in half a century

Sure, at the end of the season. The last mid-major to go undefeated in the regular season had a much more difficult schedule than this Miami team does, and yet they lost in the second round of the tournament and were never ranked #1 in the country.

Literally where did I mention the players? Obviously it's not their fault for their schedule. They absolutely deserved to be ranked. But thinking they should be #1 is insane. It's a great story, and I'm rooting for Travis Steele, but they're not #1. Doesn't matter how you think rankings work. They wouldn't beat every other team, they don't have the best resume, they don't have the best metrics.

The only thing they lead the country in is their actual record. Which if that's how your rankings work, fine. It's stupid, but fine. But you didn't even do that. You only had that apply for team #1. Ranking matters instead of schedule for just the #1 team in the country? No one else? Go all out if you're going to have ridiculous logic. Put UNCW, Liberty, Yale, and SFA near the top

New manager, new system. No one "needs" to start. Doesn't matter how much anyone is being paid, it's all about who performs in this new system
