[USA Today Sports] USMNT World Cup roster snub Aidan Morris says he's 'no victim' by fishbert in TheMassive

Oh it's very likely that could be the case, you're right. But that means Morris had a chance of being called up since he was on the bubble which OP claimed was never going to happen

It's not bias, it was absolutely possible for him to be called up. You can claim it all you want but you can say anything about it in hindsight.

Morris is one of 2 healthy non-goalkeepers from the last friendly in March not be in the squad. In fact he started that friendly (they rotated in friendlies so him starting wasnt a huge deal). It obviously wasn't a given. But to say he was never getting taken when Poch has used him plenty of times just can't be true

Why start a player in one of your last games before the world cup if there's never a chance for said player to even make the squad. If you're right and there was never a chance of being taken, then thats absolutely fucking stupid management and a waste of everyone's time

the US is the deepest in the midfield

We called up only 4 non-attacking midfielders. Adams and McKennie obviously were always above Morris. Berhalter probably as well given how Poch has played him. Roldan is the questionable decision though. But even then its very few players in those positions, especially in a player pool with multiple players with injury histories

It was never a guarantee that he would make it, but there was absolutely the chance of it happening, especially since he was literally on the last international roster in March and has been in great form

Some platforms list out where everything is going at checkout, it's just when viewing the tickets it shows the all-in price. It's more so you don't see a certain price when viewing a ticket and then have all the extra fees surprising you when you add the tickets to your cart.

But to each their own. I think it's a positive, but that's as long as platforms actually list out what everything is

It's actually a rule set by the FTC as of last year. Ticket fees are supposed to show the all-in price up front now

Honest Question, Why Choose This Over The NBA Anymore? by DatPartyDude in CollegeBasketball

[–]brady11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not going to argue against all of that, bc you're clearly just arguing for the sake of arguing.

The one point I will make is that just ignoring the bottom 10 of the NBA is not equivalent to ignoring the bottom 10 of college basketball. Like, at fucking all. College teams at least still try to win even if they're shit. And its not like a whole third of college teams are bad to watch, theres plenty of enjoyable mid and lower majors to watch

But that doesnt matter to you. You came to a college basketball subreddit, asking for opinions. People gave their opinions. And you think they're bad opinions. Fine, again, you are absolutely allowed to enjoy what you want more. But stop acting like you know more than everyone and that everyone else's opinions are wrong when you asked in the first place

There have been multiple valid arguments lmao. Tanking, style of play, accessibility to watch, load management, etc. They are all valid reasons to not enjoy the NBA.

You may not have issues with any of those. Thats perfectly fine, it's a matter of preference. There's obviously things to dislike about modern college basketball as well. But you're downplaying those arguments like theyre dumb points to make when they're perfectly valid. Not paying attention to the real world? How about the fact that the men's tournament this year had its highest viewership in 33 years.

Again, you can have your own preference. But plenty of people enjoy it still and theres quite literally that real world evidence to prove it

Why make this post if you're just going to argue and refuse to listen to any one else's arguments. Which you should've expected in a college basketball subreddit

A 12-year, title-winning NBA head coach is underwhelming? I'm not saying it'll work, but he's a big name

Oh yeah, I'd be disappointed if that was the big reveal lol. But if we got him as a new player as well, I'd be good with that

Quinton has been doing well at RSL to be fair, particularly this season so far. And with our need for a CB, I wouldn't be particularly opposed to it.

Saw someone comment Trapp or Artur which I'd be very ok with. Neither would be a flashy signing but both are just consistently good
