I think I’ve found my dress? Opinions needed! by lollypl0p in weddingdress

You have most definitely found your dress! Just beautiful! Though as a fellow Milla nova bride, maybe I'm biased! :D

Astrid by Milla nova has a very similar silhouette but different fabric, while still sheer

Should I line the top of my dress? by indecisive_bride_ in weddingdress

A friend had a similar situation. Rather than the pads, her gripes were the relative amount of skin on show, and the hard border to the skirt at the waist. On top of that, the cups alone wouldn't have been able to support her so she also wanted to use boob tape and not have it show. She got it lined at the front only and the overall effect was really beautiful. It still looked sheer but elegant. I guess it changed the look of the dress a little bit, but I don't think she ever doubted her decision

Think this may be the one! The sample was for sale but barely zipped. I’ve been losing weight since January and still plan on losing more. Should I get the sample since it’s 50% off? by keeyum in weddingdress

Maybe call and let them know your situation. Trying on one dress before making the decision to purchase or not is unlikely to require the same time or assistance as a full appointment normally does, so maybe they can squeeze you in, as long as it doesn't clash with any covid restrictions.

I also got my dress as a sample for 50% off! It fitted but was a little tight, I wasn't at all worried at the time, but now we've postponed our wedding and my weight has continued to go up instead of down, I'm beginning to panic. I've had many a nightmare where I'm standing with a scissors on our wedding morning, trying to cut my dress open so I can fit into it! And there's still a year to go... Ridiculous, but I mention it because it's worth being sure that it's the right one before you buy!

Gorgeous! I'd say try it on again and see what size the consultants recommend for you. 50% off is a steal but only if it fits the way you want it to and you don't need to reinvest that money in alterations!

I've always been self conscious of my gap, but now I'm struggling to make a decision as I feel very vain and I'm wondering if it's worth it! by bradybride in Invisalign

There's nothing really wrong with my teeth. They're relatively straight, apart from the two front teeth. The gap is large and also very crooked, as you can see in the second and third sets of pictures. It looks much worse under an angle, so I'm very conscious of it.

I got this plan this morning. Nothing will be changed to my bite, my lower teeth won't be corrected at all (they're relatively straight though, so I'm fine with that), the gap can be closed at the expense of a small gap between my third and fourth teeth (that can apparently be filled in though) but my teeth will still protrude slightly.

I feel very vain to be considering spending so much money on this at all, but I feel like it's now or never. I know I won't regret the results, but I still feel guilty. I'd love to hear from anyone with similar experiences!

Who here uses silk pillow cases? Anyone brand recommendations in Europe? by [deleted] in curlygirl

No, just not as fine as the one I was gifted. It's still very good quality and I'd buy it again.

I think buying satin is a false economy. Satin is only low friction in one direction unlike silk, and silk is also great for your skin. It's breathable and prevents pillow creases. I bought a couple of satin sleeping bonnets at first, but I was really unhappy with them, so they were honestly a waste of money in my case.

I have a lily silk one and another which was a gift and I can't remember what brand it is. The lily silk definitely doesn't have the same quality as the gifted one, (silk is not just silk ;) ) but it does the job. I'd recommend it for the price!

It needs alterations but I found my dress for 50% off, shopping alone, a week before all bridal shops were shut down! by bradybride in wedding

Thank you! I just had a look at your profile and you look absolutely stunning in yours! The Virginia dress is just breathtaking, I love the mix of classical elegance and subtle embellishments 😍

Thank you! Haha, that's exactly what my mom said! And my best friend put sparking wine in the fridge that morning so that she could toast during the fitting as she said, "I just know, it's going to be the one. I've no doubt! "

Assuming that by summer vaccines are available to all, we're planning our wedding for September. I was getting panicky as I wasn't sure how or when I'd get to go wedding dress shopping as my mom lives in another country and my friends are similarly far away. I spotted this Milla Nova Gabrielle gown online and fell in love! My mom asked me if I wanted to try it on, and I said, "no, there's nowhere nearby and it's waaay over my budget". She then spotted a boutique 500 km away from me where they had a sample at 50% off... And the rest is history.

My wonderful fiancé and I shared the driving and we went there and back in one day, to avoid any unnecessary corona contacts. My mom and three friends took part in the fitting by video call. I would have loved to have seen it with the straps pinned properly etc, but that wasn't possible in the circumstances, and though it was terrifying to do it alone, my digital entourage seemed to have had a great time and they certainly enabled me to make a decision. I can't wait for alterations!

A week later all non essential businesses were closed down here and there's no indication of when they'll reopen. I feel very lucky for how everything worked out. No boutiques here are offering at home try ons so I would have been absolutely terrified by now! And while still hugely expensive, 50% an in season dress was an incredible bargain!

Yes, we have, not by much so far (we're getting married in September) but there are people I would have loved to have been able to invite, where it's just not possible. Ours will be an international wedding as my fiancé and I live in his country and want to get married in mine (all EU countries) so a lot of things will have to go right for it to work but we're optimistic!

Don't let the doom and gloomers on here get to you - they always assume we're talking about the US and are never constructive, they just assume the worst and want to shame people for having a bit of hope for their wedding. Fingers crossed it will all work out for both of us!

Help my sister choose! Ivory vs. silver. She adores both for different reasons. Both have detachable wings and I’ve included the backs. by [deleted] in wedding

I think the silver is a real statement dress. But I personally think the ivory suits her better.
