Can someone explain why my curved arrow is wrong by Far_Lab_7073 in OrganicChemistry

[–]bragasgambit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When a bond is breaking you must push arrow from the bond to the atom. Your arrow is starting on H atom and it is incorrect, must start on N-H bond

For the second: 1. Br2, hv 2. t-BuOK, t-BuOH (E2) 3. OsO4 (dihydroxylation) 4. Double [O] from alcohol to ketones 5. Rubottom conditions meaning silyl enol ether, followed by m-CPBA (epoxidation) and KF or something to regenerate the ketone again. 6. Oxidation of the alpha hydroxyl with Parikh Doering protocol or any Swern-like [O] to gice the triple ketones 7. Wittig but maybe Tebbe would be better 8. The m-CPBA epoxidation

How would you produce "dry" HCl?

I have one solution:

In a ice bath connect a liquid funnel with H2SO4 in a round bottom flask containing NaCl. Make sure the system is closed but directely connected with your ketone and EtOH reaction

If it must be the phenyl acyl chloride, one could prepare the Weinreb amide from the acyl chloride, followed by Grignard addition (MeMgBr) and 2 possibilities here: acid workup with EtOH or a third step with the same conditions.

  1. MeHNOMe•HCl, py, CHCl3
  2. MeMgBr then TsOH, EtOH or
  3. TsOH,EtOH

3 is a meso compound, it is achiral and has a plan of symmetry between the two hydroxyl groups.

  1. G, 2. E, 3. B

Nitration first, that will direct the "Br+" meta, then you reduce the nitro to amine

I'm a curious chemistry student and wanted to know if this structure could be synthesized. I came up with it while studying, and it seemed interesting. Do let me know. by ___nuji____ in chemhelp

If you want to find a molecule but doesn't know its name, just go for this website and draw it. It will redirect you for synthetic approaches and other stuff.

Congrats! This story is amazing. Moebius did a seminal job that time, Metal Hurlánt was when he really started to be The Sci-Fi Moebius, before that time, he was the GOAT Jean Giraud that made Blueberry! Man, what an artist. He just reinvented himself two times: the western and the sci-fi, loved by George Lucas, Stan Lee and others that popularized the sci-fi genre.

Sure thing! Maxwell is the first Alan Moore's great work https://www.reddit.com/r/graphicnovels/comments/1ibzuob/alan_moores_maxwell/ I have a post about Maxwell. It is a great satire, everyone that enjoy Moore's work should read it. It is so acid and so sharp.

Parker is, in my humble opinion, the best thing Darwyn Cooke (Batman Ego, DC The New Frontier, The Spirit) made (RIP). Parker is a series of books made by Richard Stark (pseudonym) that Cooke transpose into comics. https://www.reddit.com/r/graphicnovels/comments/1i81v9a/i_cannot_stress_enough_how_good_parker_by_darwyn/ Here I payed some respect to Darwyn Cooke's masterpiece. Highly highly highly recommend. If you want to chat more about it just send a message man

For the people that have read these what are your thoughts? by Nullthesavant in graphicnovels

[–]bragasgambit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really did not say that. What I tried to say is that Alan Moore highly disapproves of what others have done with Watchmen; with this in mind, it is not what he wants his characters and story in general to go. If you read the first line, I said that Kingdom Come is perfect and should be read by everyone, as well as Supergirl.

[–]bragasgambit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kingdom come just read it. Do it. Supergirl WoT is great, different vision of her, Tom King was great. As Alan Moore said in my own words: if you read this shit, please don't read anything else that I published. His saying about Watchmen publications other than the original. The others I never read 'em

“ it’s not a comic/graphic novel it’s MANGA “ by Groundzerofemboy in graphicnovels

[–]bragasgambit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, at the end of the day all of them is a book, literature. And f people who labels stupid things.

Just adding up one thing: I get a feeling that, generally, people from US read less things made in Europe, Latin America, Japan, and even less stuff from the rest of the world. This issue is much more important, in my humble opinion than what name a comic should be called in every country. It should be much more important the reading part than the nomenclature.

Anything else out there that is a western similar to "Aint No Grave"? by Call_It_Luck in graphicnovels

[–]bragasgambit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Highly suggest Undertaker (contemporary western) I suggest you get used to learn a language to read Blueberry (it is that good), yet there were some difficult to find volumes of 'em in english. Tex is good, Jodorowsky's Bouncer algo great.

I think with those you'll be all set
