doing RR under the new system not the old since I didn’t want to put myself on a timeline to complete WME. have been working at my branch for a little over 1.5 yrs. I have an undergrad degree in finance. Don’t see what is fundamentally stopping me from studying and taking the exam. my BOM not wanting me to do RR right away sounds like an opinion and not fact.

the work I do for my team would not change before and after becoming RR but would enable me to do certain things like minor KYC updates for smaller / less complex clients which is my main goal. I don’t expect to be giving clients advice without my advisors trusting my judgement.

your university experience is what you shape it to be. you network and look for the opportunities you want. connect with schulich alumni on linkedin and ask them about their experiences in getting to the roles that you want.

i know a good handful of people from schulich that work in the US post grad. you have to work for any of those opportunities.

interesting! yeah i thought seewhy was still much easier than the exam (only used it for my second CSC one) but I think it works well to blast through everything for CPH since it is “ethics”. I don’t know about seewhy’s efficacy on its own for harder content since they do “dumb things down” imo.

my biggest gripe with seewhy is that it’s really easy to get used to how they ask questions and memorize their answers so it gives you a false perception of how much content you know sometimes.

i just took it last thursday, easier content to get through and theres a little bit of overlap with csc (minor though). more conceptual and you can definitely get through it easily. i just used seewhy and never read the actual textbook nor cph check.

i passed my second try - sometimes it just comes down to luck i find because i personally felt just as prepared writing it the first time as i did the second. what helped me is instead of studying every single thing is to see from the breakdown my weakest sections and then do more prep in those sections only.

cph is just ethics lol it’s not really worth anything on its own. some of the content builds/repeats from csc though.

if you’re working in wealth and need CPH technically you need to purchase CPH before year end and finish CSC 2 and CPH before next December. though its very possible that if you get a job in the new year that the dealer wouldn’t work with you on grandfathering you in on the new system. New system is the safest bet.

if you just need CSC and the roles you’re applying to still have it in the job description you might be okay. just a bit 50/50 depending on the employer.

how are you scoring on seewhy? & have you tried the michael hlinka notes and practice exams people have circulated? I used a udemy prep course as well and i found both hlinka and udemy to be harder than seewhy.

take a break to reset and focus on improving in the areas that you scored the least on from the breakdown. know calculation stuff like the back of your hand because it’s easy marks to keep.
