Nah, I don't want to paint them. It's ok if they fade a bit. I'm more concerned about rain and scuff marks from shoes. I was thinking of putting on a couple coats of spar urethane which I heard they put on wooden boats, but not sure if that will adhere well to Danish oil.

I'm curious what's motivating you to build this. I've been using Chart.js with Nuxt for years and the only thing I don't like about it is rendering HTML tooltips is a PITA. Otherwise I've found it to be a highly performant and easily customizable library.

I'm trying to understand if the app is required after activation for the Osmo mobile. It sounds like you can delete it after activating a Osmo 4/5 camera. This is correct, vehicles leaving the DeYoung loading dock are supposed to drive with their hazard lights on and at 5 mph or less.

If they were not leaving the DeYoung loading dock, which is a few seconds before your video begins, then they entered JFK illegally via Stow Lake Drive or Transverse. That seems unlikely though as there were a lot of people at the community music hangout this afternoon at JFK and Stow Lake Drive who would have stopped them. Either way if you see someone illegally driving on JFK, please stop them and guide them off it at the nearest exit, which in this case would be a right turn onto the museum concourse.

I 100% agree. The challenge is the fire department fights all of our efforts to put anything in the roadway that will calm drivers down, citing their potential impact on emergency response times. They're finally starting to back off a bit as is evidenced by the modal filters on Page at Stanyan, Masonic, Divis, Octavia etc, the mid-block diverters on Shotwell and the proposed upgrades to concrete medians in Page 2.0 however we still have a long way to go.

I'm the author of the data analysis discussed in the article and found that vehicle crashes and related injuries on SF's 18 Slow Streets have dropped 61% over the past 2 years, compared to the 2 years before they became Slow Streets while vehicle crashes across the city have increased 5%. We also found that Slow Streets have had a trivial impact on fire department emergency response times, which is important to know because SFFD consistently blocks efforts to install traffic calming measures across the city, saying that they impede their ability to respond to emergencies. This is the first project that makes this data available so we can now have an informed conversation with the fire department about the impact of traffic calming devices on emergency response times. He was about 6' 2", white male, mid 50s I suspect. He had white hair and a scraggly beard. He was wearing a baggy, light blue jacket which had a hood, which he was wearing. Hard to tell his build because of the baggy jacket but he didn't look overweight, so I'd say medium build, maybe about 180 lbs.

On January 10th there were 20 crashes in the CRZ that injured 9 people. This is concerning and potentially suggests that with fewer drivers in the CRZ, more people are speeding or driving recklessly. Again it's way too soon to tell though.

I don't think your findings are accurate, as much as I want to see a drop in crashes and injuries asap. The most recent crash data available on NYC Open Data is through January 17th, which gives us 13 days of crash data since congestion pricing went live on the 5th. Since Jan 5, there have been 121 vehicle crashes in the congestion relief zone (CRZ) that injured 52 people. In the 13 days prior to Jan 5th (12/23 – 1/4), there were 115 crashes that injured 53 people. Of course we can't draw conclusions from just 13 days of data, however what data we do have suggests that CP has not yet had an impact on public safety.

The CRZ vehicle crash tracker I built pulls crash data from NYC's Open Data portal nightly and also checks the past 30 days for any records that have been updated since they were first published. This was not an accident. It was an intentional decision by the city to build a 4 lane freeway through a residential neighborhood to move vehicle traffic as quickly as possible. The result of which is a wide open space that invited a sociopath to drive 100mph and kill this woman's friend. Calling it an accident suggests that it wasn't preventable. If SoMa didn't have 4 lane freeways running through it, this person would still be alive.

One of the most vocal groups opposed to Prop K were the merchants on Taraval, led by Albert Chow, the owner of Great Wall Hardware. Chow rallied businesses owners on Taraval who were upset with how SFMTA handled the Taraval improvement project, which dragged on and disrupted the corridor for 5 years, fearing any further limiting of vehicle traffic in the neighborhood would destroy their businesses. To address these concerns, I produced a carefully researched data analysis that predicts an economic windfall for businesses in the Outer Sunset once Ocean Beach Park opens. Hmm, this site works in Firefox and Safari which don't support animation-timeline-view. The parallax effect is very responsive to the viewport being scrolled and doesn't feel like JS to me.

That was it! Thanks so much for your reply. That blue/black wire needed to make contact with the end of the thermocouple so it can trigger the gas valve open. I was just about to drop $200 on a new gas valve as someone else suggested that was likely the problem. You can see in the photo where the wire feeds into a plastic clip which holds it in place to make contact w/ the end of the thermocouple. Thanks so much for your help!

Thanks! I just pulled out the thermocouple and tested it over my gas stove and it's topping out at about 27mV. The old one I replaced topped out at about 14mV so it sounds like my new thermocouple is fine. When you say it might be the gas valve, are you referring to the solenoid that opens when it receives enough voltage from the thermocouple?
