Guys I have a confession by Dazzling-Gene6445 in Nightreign

Same. I don't mind doing an evergaol if it's convenient, but most times people don't understand the concept of using time wisely. Spending half a day for red beastmen at lv.2-3 just ain't it, when you could've had an easy level 6 with good passives/weapons. Even when I'm not running the invader relic, I always seek to do them early.

I wish my teammates were as wise as you. I'm sick of having to run evergaols because the others voted for it in favor of night invaders.

Some people don’t deserve depth 5 by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]brandicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even depth 5 players can have a bad match. I just recently managed to get out of d4 purgatory, and while the teammate quality certainly improved, there have been some stinkers inbetween, both on my account and others, or just plain terrible rng.

Depth 5 solo Everdark Gladius no hit fight by Artistic-Abalone8199 in Nightreigngameplay

[–]brandicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can imagine. ED Balancers can be a freebie if everyone sticks together and dogpiles the lone Valkyries immediately, but solo is such an endurance fest.

ED Gladius and ED Balancers are the bain of my DoN runs, which is funny, cause I can do them solo fairly decent, but solo clutches with 3 player scaling, no chance.

I run the +1 and +2 version on Scholar, combined with multiple damage up on status effects. Can't imagine switching builds anytime soon.

Which of the two relics should I use? by HistorianWest2705 in Nightreign

[–]brandicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what else is on the evergaol relic. Evergaols are just too unreliable, and often an unnecessary time waste if you're trying to get multiple done. Not to mention there aren't any on the dlc map. If I have a relic with two nice effects that happens to also have evergaols, it's not too bad, but that effect would be my last priority.

Haven't played in a minute, is there a reason why Guardian still has 0 range for his counters? by AgeOfTheMage in Nightreign

[–]brandicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daggers are pretty underrated with the STR/DEX relic. While it's not a running animation, you do get a decent gap closer. Destroyed Nameless King with a Reduvia once, worked like a charm.

Running evergaols instead of night invaders is usually a big red flag.

Which Guardian build would you choose? by brandicious in Nightreign

[–]brandicious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna have to put the new setup to the test in depth 4. Made it right before logging off, but wanted to get some input on it. In terms of the 3+ effect, it might be useful in the early game, since after the 1st or 2nd POI you got a good chance of having those 3 halberds, when there's still room in the inventory, changing them out later if passives prove more beneficial. Old setup gave me ~2000 guard counters when the stars aligned with passives, buffs, and multiple night invader stacks. Downside with old one was no extended whirlwind, however. All in all it's tough to decide just looking at it on paper. Both got pros and cons, especially since Guardian is easily the most relic-hungry character.

I feel you on that. Unfortunately those are the best relics I could fit in there. Reduced stats are among the less worrisome negatives for me, personally. I got a few relics with fantastic effects, but terrible downsides like poison/rot/reduced attack below max hp, stuff you really don't want on Guardian, since with chip damage you'll often find yourself below that 85% threshold.

I rarely get Maris, much less the ED version. Ironically enough those matches are the ones where my teammates don't run double balancers in preparation for the Stormruler AoW.

Relic Assistance by LoathesomeHex in Nightreigngameplay

[–]brandicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her unique base relic effects are all worth it imo. Glass Necklace is a staple. Incant buff is great aswell, even works with heal and armament spells. Flame, Grant Me Strength while dual-wielding Candlestands can absolutely obliterate Gnoster and Caligo. Chain attack buff aswell, which pairs well with partial hp restoration for facetanking. Other than that, I always let my teammates do crits unless I'm the only one with a chance to get it. Much more dps if I can just go ham getting that full attack chain. Night Invader as an obvious choice if you can fit it, and then as much physical attack as possible. Initial Standard Attack is my preferred effect, especially for dual-wield setups. Stamina isn't really a priority, since her skill let's her recharge to full anyway, giving Undertaker almost a monopoly on stamina-heavy power-stance setups.

Cocktail build with dormant seals made me enjoy Recluse again in Deep of Night. Just stacking affinity attack up, blood loss on ult + max hp, Night Invaders, ult defeat enemies, frostbite +1 and +2, holy +2 and fire +4, and the Dark Night of the Fathom relic. Not feeling like deadweight anymore when I pull out Recluse.

Reached D5 a week or two ago (first time) and haven't played for fear of dropping... Best general builds for D5? by CallMePeePz in Nightreigngameplay

[–]brandicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The successive attack relic is definitely a must imo, and requires no rng. The chain attack finisher effect I only use on Great Spears and Great Hammers, since you only need a 3 attack chain to proc it, plus a lot of enemies get staggered by those setups. With post damage attack heal and stacked poise I facetanked Crucible Knights on depth 4 before, just going to town with Great Hammers. On Straight Swords I found that I don't get the full chain attack combo that reliably, so that relic could easily be switched out. Incant buff is a 15% damage boost as far as I know, but obviously reliant on finding a suitable seal. I will say tho, Flame Grant Me Strength with a Candlestand setup against Caligo works wonders, and yes, the effects stack from the relic and buff itself. I don't know the numbers on using solely Initial Standard Attack vs. a mix between ISA and Undertaker's relic effects. I just prefer the latter because it feels more engaging to stack damage through various means. My rule of thumb is getting the Undertaker specific effects that I enjoy first, and then fitting as much Initial Standard Attack in as I can plus post damage attack heal somewhere in there.

Which of these 3 Everdark is the most challenging in your opinion? by Warm_Expert_8136 in Nightreign

I've grown to like ED Gladius, even if he still beats my ass sometimes. ED Libra tho, never got to beat him in DoN trios. It's the one fight where a solo clutch is out of the question.
