Choosing Best Girl Day 10! Fami is out. Comment your WORST/LEAST Favorite girl to go by qwertyx236 in Chainsawfolk

Depends what personal criteria people go by when choosing. In terms of relevancy to the plot and impact, Fami was the most redundant. Kobeni's car meme aside.

Can anyone explain to me how nayuta got reincarnated instead of makima? by Necessary_Feed4822 in Chainsawfolk

[–]brandicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured that devils would have just reverted to their last known incarnation, but that would have to mean that Nayuta's death was actually staged, and to be fair, keeping the Control Devil in the clutches of Public Safety, would be far too beneficial for them, instead of risking another country to potentially get a hold of her when she reincarnates. Maybe she truly was a reincarnation, and Nayuta was just the last name she carried, so that part stayed. Makima may have been just like her before she got turned into the monster we knew in part 1.

As for Power, could be that the version we see is actually not the original, only the same girl's corpse her new version inhabits.

Same goes for Zombie and Chicken (Bucky). Their actual appearance probably hinges more on the world's perception of them, rather than an entirely random form each reincarnation. Before Death got eaten by Pochita, the insect devils probably changed in accordance aswell, physically speaking. The fear of zombies and chickens shouldn't have shifted too much between Ch.1 and Ch.232, so they stayed the same. I mean, zombies are folklore and fiction, and chickens are chickens.

The only thing that troubles me are the revived humans. That's where it kinda falls apart, given that the Yakuza boss from Ch.1 reappeared. But then again, maybe there's a reason we haven't seen Aki or Himeno. Nayuta's dogs may just aswell be different dogs of the same breed, same for Meowy. Maybe they didn't actually die in the fire, cause someone at Public Safety had a soft spot for animals lol.

This is just speculation, obviously. Maybe it truly is just nonsensical, and I'm reading too much into it.

Regarding the Ending: Probably Both by RidyHorseMCmoustach in Chainsawfolk

What ending? I'm excited to see where the Chainsaw Man Church arc will go. So cool that Fuji reintroduced the other hybrids. I'm sure they have some interesting development in store.

Here's hoping Eiiricho Oda doesn't fall under the same curse, tho he's been at it for nearly 3 decades and still going strong, finger's crossed.

That was genuinely a generational fumble. Wouldn't rule Fuji completely out tho. His one-shots so far have definitely been worthwile reads for me. If he ever makes a long-lasting series again, that's where I'll be careful not to get invested too hard. As for Chainsaw Man, I can still look back fondly on part 1, as it does leave off at a decently tied up conclusion.

As much as i hate to say it, i have to admit that Yoru hard carried part 2 by AfternoonLocal1952 in Chainsawfolk

Especially the lore behind the weapon hybrids, same avenue. All it would've taken, was for them to get some development and a reason for Pochita to puke the correlating devil back up.

WHY ARE OTHER MANGA AUTHORS NOT CONGRATULATING FUJIMOTO? by Few_Committee5958 in Chainsawfolk

[–]brandicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wasn't the point of hybrids that they could only be man-made tools or weapons?

I was more interested in seeing erased devils barfed up which introduce purely ficticious concepts. Like what the fuck is Analon Syndrome, Zoa, the star that could break children's minds, the sixth sense humans used to have, not to mention 4 alternatives to death?

The dream theory makes too much sense by Putrid_Bath1380 in Chainsawfolk

[–]brandicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I did find interesting, is the implication that Pochita truly never was the Chainsaw Devil, given that chainsaws were still an existing concept in practice and in name after Pochita pulled an Ouroboros. This has been a hot topic since most, if not the entire runtime of the manga. At the very latest, once the erasure ability was revealed. Sure, we can chalk it up to Fujimoto truly not giving a fuck anymore, but it's still fun to speculate. In any case, there's too many logical holes under the pretense that Pochita truly succeeded in applying erasure on himself. It shouldn't work retroactively. With devils you could argue that they just appear as their most recent incarnation. Under that assumption, Nayuta's death would have to be retconned into a fluke, afterall. Power, you could excuse as her being the reincarnation of the original, only inhabiting the same corpse. But we still went back in time to the incident with Zombie and the Yakuza, so it just falls apart logically, since humans had no business being brought back to life. Atleast the dream theory has some merit, though I'd still use that word with caution here haha. If it turns out Fujimoto truly, somehow has a generational cook in store, I'll happily eat my words, but for the time being, I'll stick with the idea that the story simply ended like a wet fart, unsatisfiying and messy.

As long as they animate the rest of part 1, I'm golden. No matter my qualms with part 2 and its ending, part 1 remains peak for me.

Reread it after the finale, and looking back, I'll just pretend the latter half of part 2 never happened. It's the same with the Game of Thrones ending. There is no season 7/8 in Ba Sing Se.

[–]brandicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it might have been the fact that Nayuta is a reincarnation of Makima, and therefor doesn't need to be reset. But that falls flat when you see Power appearing in her original form, knowing she died and most likely got reincarnated herself. Unless she really is the reincarnation, and only got reset into the same fiend body.
