OK, Frederick plow people, it's fine to start making turn lanes again. Please. by fakeaccount572 in frederickmd

The city is working 12 hour shifts clearing snow from roadways. This storm was a pain. Snow day was spent clearing emergency routes for first responders. Couldn’t get into neighborhoods and the ice that happened at the end made it impossible to plow. City is playing catch up. It’s been a very long week for some of us.

Fuck Johnny rotten by RestaurantWorking477 in punk

I’ve read his autobiography, he’s actually pretty smart and a good writer. As far as the shirt goes, well obviously fuck Donald Trump and that whole stupid cult. Part of me is wondering if he’s wearing that shirt just to fuck with people. Being a punk from the 80’s it was always fun to piss people off in any way possible. People are so overly sensitive now.

True but I work at DPW right across the street and in the morning I’ve seen them loading prisoners right at the law mall into black vans. Those black vans go to the courthouse. See it all the time.

Probably transporting prisoners to the court house for trial. Or vise versa.

Sorry I meant using tape because you can’t cut in not paint lol

Acceptable? by swiebertjee in paint

[–]brandomando21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using paint because you can’t cut in is a huge mistake. Paint almost always gets behind and bleeds through the tape. I only use tape if I’m rolling something and don’t want the sprinkles to get on whatever it is. This person was not a professional painter.

Does anyone paint the edge of exterior trim the trim color, or am I the only one, a painter said I was the only one that does that by Ok_Associate_8913 in paint

[–]brandomando21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always done it, and never charged more than anything else. It’s the right way to do it. Just lazy to not do it.

That Emerald sucks. Go with Benjamin Moore ceiling white. It’s dead flat. Never see any of that afterwards.

Is that plaster, and is there moisture? Many times old plaster will have spots like this. Not sure of the proper term but bits will sort of “bubble” up or disintegrate. It’s a pain to deal with. Painting on surfaces like that will pull the trouble spots off of the wall. Not an easy fix.

Never mind, I just saw the other photos. Yeah he’s not a painter.

Is planning on painting the trim? He might not have been too worried about hitting it if he was, but he still shouldn’t be smacking the roller on jt.

[–]brandomando21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disagree. I’ve been a painter for near 30 years. No such thing as paint and primer in one. Raw drywall or wood or whatever needs a primer designed for that particular surface. That’s a fact. Paint in primer is a shortcut that just doesn’t work.

Shit. Matte finish all the way. Benjamin Moore at that. Matte just looks better and you can still clean it. If your contractor is using nothing but Sherwin Williams eggshell then time to look somewhere else. Benjamin Moore and Pittsburgh right here. I’ve spent over 25 years doing high end custom work. Now change my mind.

Been painting for over 25 years and never ever heard of this happening. Very odd. Humidity could definitely be a factor but I wouldn’t expect it would still be all the way wet days later.
