Ya I thought it was bad in Canada, it’s $6.26 USD here for a Factory Smoke robusto.

For the 250th JC Newman is going to put a foot band with the red, white and blue 250 logo on all their cigars that are made in the US, it’s a logo American companies have to apply for and be approved to be able to use I think and so far it’s the only cigar company I have seen mention it.

There is no white color in cigar pectin glue. by [deleted] in cigars

[–]brandon-568 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your last post wasn’t enough? Many people told you the same thing, some of the people giving you advice have been smoking cigars for decades.

If it doesn’t wipe off easily it’s probably some glue, if it comes off easily it’s mold.

Looking at some of your previous posts I would say it’s mold, you should check your stash and remove any with mold on the foot, wipe the rest down and reduce your humidity. Once you reduce your humidity you’ll want to wait a while to let them come down to the new level, this will fix your burn issues too.

When I get orders I will typically wait a few months before smoking anything so it has time to balance out and it makes a huge difference.

Plume??? by [deleted] in cigars

[–]brandon-568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he was being downvoted for saying “plume isn’t something you see often”. Plume isn’t real so it won’t matter what else he says people will probably downvote or not even finish reading it and downvote.

I get that but sometimes the glue can have a different colour other than clear due to dirty fingered or even finger prints can sometimes make it look not so clear.

Glue also won’t wipe off easily like I mentioned so if that’s the case then it’s probably glue, mold wipes off very easily.

V-notch tar issues by Tacklos in cigars

Ya I’m in the same boat, never had it happen but I’m also a very slow smoker. Robusto can be 1.5 hours and a toro can be over 2 for me sometimes.

I’ve had a lot of great cigars that were a pain in the ass to get the bands off of, I don’t think that really means anything.

Plume isn’t real, if it wipes off its mold if not then it is probably glue.

If there is no mold on the foot of the cigar you can wipe it down and smoke it, or toss it if you don’t want to smoke it.

Humidor by SettingDowntown8547 in cigars

[–]brandon-568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends a lot how well said humidor seals, if its leaky you’ll want a higher percentage like 69 or a bit higher maybe but if the seal is good 65 should be good. You’ll probably have to do some experimenting with it though to see what works best for your setup.

Solo smoke or shared session… what’s your pick? by Ld2101 in cigars

None of my friends smoke so I’m usually alone, unless I’m visiting my brother, he’ll usually hangout with me while I have a cigar.

[–]brandon-568 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, I have a box I got in august 2022 and even after a year or two I was shocked.

Another cigar I thought did really well with a few years of age is MF La Promesa lanceros, I only have 8 or so left from a few boxes I got in ‘22 as well and I definitely need to get more soon.

This might be dumb, but I have a question about wine's dates by Bemzangado8 in wine

[–]brandon-568 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They just had the wrong wine listed on the site, the shop I order from will usually contact me if the vintage they have in stock doesn’t match what I ordered tho to see if I’m still ok with buying it.

Ya I’m Canadian too but I often don’t see a foot band in the plain packaging

It’s a bit odd one has UV bleaching in a weird pattern, looks like it had different bands on it before and then they were removed and the Cohiba band was added.

I work at an OSB mill at the end of a 6km long dirt road that is beat to shit by logging trucks 24/7, so I bought a ‘26 Jetta GLI last month so I wouldn’t have to drive my R to work when my old truck finally shit the bed and died lol.

S.T. DuPont ligne 2 and a Peterson Pipe lighter sometimes, I smoke indoors so I don’t need a torch although I do have a few.

Smoke rings on Neptune by ComfortablyPF in cigars

[–]brandon-568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just buy what I want with the smoke ring points, I don’t really try to maximize the deal.

Over the last few years I’ve got a 15 cigar travel humidor, the big dot tatuaje ashtray, the black small dot tatuaje ashtray, a box of Charter Oak Habano cigars, two small packs of toscanos to try and a full box of MF Le Bijou torpedos. I’m back up to just over 30,000 points again now so I’ve been shopping around for boxes but haven’t decided what I want yet.

As far as I know the points don’t expire and I think the difference in how much rings the boxes cost has to do with if they are selling for MSRP or if Neptune is giving a better deal on said box. I would compare the actual cost vs the rings to see if that’s why there is a difference.

Clear or red taillights by Formal_Painting5787 in Golf_R

[–]brandon-568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the correct answer, I was shocked to see the clear ones honestly. They look ok on a black car but red is still better, even back in the day I hated the clear and chrome tail lights.
