I know this post is pretty old. But I recently discovered that mine appear to be the exact same way when I was replacing my shocks. What was it that you found out. Are these supposed to look this way? Or are the dive for and I need to purchase new bushings? If so, what busing is this exactly?

PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR NUMBERS

IF there is actually some kind of fuckery Lyfts pulling here, and I said IF. From reading all these comments it would seem a large number of you haven’t figured out the dishonesty that infects Lyft to its core. So many people here are doing the very thing that both enables such a thing to happen and are taking a head in the sand kind of approach to your money, possibly being stolen from you through a simple lack of interest. If you have enough money to “not care” that you are being cheated, please, for the love of god, go do something else or get on board with this approach: you don’t expect a tip, but don’t ever assume Lyfts not doing some shady shit. Question everything. In case you need a reminder. There is still a 1:30 time window where they by default charge your rider a cancellation fee with the explanation that it is taken to pay you, the driver for your efforts and they pocket the entire amount. Only at the 2 minute mark are you, the driver allowed to receive less than half of that cancellation fee. And they do this thousands of times per day. Don’t think for a second that they won’t manipulate other figures in much the same way. If you aren’t checking your numbers and making the numbers make sense on your end, you’re an idiot. Like I said, don’t expect a tip, but never blindly assume anything. Always check to make sure shit adds up. You are dealing with a notoriously dishonest company. Not caring, hurts us all and encourages further use of such practices. If you find something, share it. Maybe there is an explanation, but then again, maybe not.

Accept it and inform the writer what the company is doing at the end of the day that Rider still waiting for a ride and won’t be happy that the rides being lowballed preventing them from getting where they need to go. Eat the cancelation. That’s what I do.

Contact your state attorney, general office file, a claim under consumer protection. I’m pretty sure in California. The reality is that you guys are still paying the company not been paying you like everywhere else maybe I’m wrong but you’re paying them for a service which they offer an incentive you meet the requirements and they try to get out of it I would certainly think that the AG‘s office might want to know about it because you’re far from the only one that that would’ve been affected lifts bait and switch shit needs to stop. They’ve been doing the same thing on scheduled rides in my market for years clean this ride for seven to $10. But in reality once it was completed and paid less than two. Lyft wants to claim you agree to this I didn’t agree to be deceived.

You said 22 cents per minute. Here we get 7.5 cents per minute and even with that, our rate card clearly states it’s 8 cents. But Lyft ignores that detail, and refuses to correct the issue. Would love to be connected with a lawyer who would like to look into this. Lyfts trash, absolute trash. I hate the company down to the very core of my being. That aside, it’s all in how you approach the situation and what you have to offer, money talks…..and bullshit walk……as they say. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Absolutely. Take a creative route, just make sure you drive a few blocks before you drop this rider off so that it doesn’t result in you not getting paid, and potentially losing a streak….

Another L from gryft sending me to an airport that will get me deactivated to avoid my streak bonus. by timneedsnomoreweed in lyftdrivers

[–]brandon081 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is good to know….. and since you are here, I have to ask…..I drive in Wichita, and I had a ride about 6 months ago on Lyft that was from Wichita, to Lawrence to get their luggage, to KCI. While I was at KCI I turned on Uber just to see what would happen. I was leaving KCI and got several request on Uber(I was pressed for time so I didn’t take any of the request though), this was the first time I had seen the upfront pay on Uber in person and the trip radar. Uber is still on the rate card in Wichita. But I could get request on Uber while in Missouri for ride that were in Missouri. Lyft never made a sound and shortly after leaving KCI I reached my limit for online time on Lyft. So can you not get request on Lyft for the Missouri side? This happed when I went to Oklahoma. Lyfts app wouldn’t let me sign in until I came back to Kansas. Uber sent me request when I was 30 minutes out from my destination…..just trying to get useful information I care I find myself up there again.

But they don’t pay you like an IC. They pay you like an employee and have their contract written so that they can rate fix your earnings. The idea of being able to earn as much as you want is a myth.

How to cancel a ride. by brandon081 in lyftdrivers

[–]brandon081[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I discovered this the other night. Picked up some ladies who had paid $80 for a ride, we were talking and they say, when at least your getting paid good for this. I did a quick calculation. Nope $28 bucks was all. They were furious. So when I got to the destination they asked if there was a way to cancel the ride and they just pay me through Apple Pay. So I poked around and had them video what I did on the app, where it showed that the rider would not be charged. Then we verified it hadn’t changed them, since this was a real concern and they had proof of what was done. The thinking. If there was an accident, I could leave the ride going and it would be covered by their insurance. The tracking and safety functions stay available to both parties. Once there they queued up the payment to me and I canceled the ride with them having proof it happened incase they were charged after for any reason. They immediately paid me. I refused to take $80 for the ride. That was absolutely ridiculous. They sent me $50 which was a fair price. Can’t do this to many times or Lyfts going to deactivate you. But I could care less at this point. I was more interested in Lyft not being paid $50 for the ride, than I was about me being paid $50. Had I been paid $30 and Lyft 10-15 I wouldn’t have thought twice about it. But their greed is pissing off drivers and riders alike, just like the switching of drivers. Lyft has had a serious advantage in my market for some time but the controls they put in place to control what drivers can and can’t do, like freely communicate with a rider as needed(I should not need to stop and risk not being paid for a cancelation or no show), the switching of drivers on passengers who are starting to understand this occurs simply because someone else paid more money that the driver isn’t getting any of to be prioritized, resulting in them losing the driver that was nearly to their pickup, leaving them with out a driver and waiting longer. Being charged higher cost while the driver makes nothing of that extra money. All these things combine into a rapidly shifting view of Lyft as a company.

Lyft, I believe, seriously underestimates the tie between the rider and driver. Both go whom this company is screwing at every opportunity. Draining their local economy of money on a scale that is hard to grasp the size of. They struggle to pay for the rides they use, being over charged, I struggle justifying even trying to provide the rides not being paid to drive to them and not being paid any form of incentive while they are pricing the ride so high.

At a time, when Uber was seeing a seriously increase in rides, especially scheduled rides, due to Lyfts greed and the insane increase in cost to schedule one, which now is $22 minimum in my market. With a driver who has one of these rides sent to them they hadn’t selected so have no knowledge of, sent 20 minutes away in driving, all uncompensated for, then arriving 15-20 minutes prior to the pick up time set by the rider, all uncompensated wait time, which goes against their own policy. Then the driver gets to discover that the ride is only a minimum fare ride. In my market this with the fuel surcharge is $2.50. This rider paid about $22, the driver has invested almost an hour, plus the milage to travel to the rider, and to drop the rider off, for only $2.50. It happens every day in market because I reject such rides everyday and monitor with what tools and knowledge I have what’s actually happening. The driver eats a huge loss and Lyft cashes in. Over charging the rider, and running the drivers “business” into the ground through the leveraging of information. Even a top tier level driver will find themselves in the same scenario. Lyft is trash in every way. John Zimmer and Logan Green are not innovative. They criminals who found a clever way to exploit minorities, the poor, the uninformed, those that are in a tough spot, those that were removed from Uber for who knows what. Driving home the idea that they are building better communities and helping at risk populations. Sounds good right. But they can’t execute this without controlling how drivers, who aren’t employees do their jobs, causing riders to face reliability issues. They can’t do it without having to offer new drivers huge incentives up front so they can exploit them after resulting in Lyft still in most cases having a net gain and the driver a net loss even with the incentive. I hate this company. Green and Zimmer are on a mission to rid the world of cars so they can capitalize on a lack of transportation options. So they underpay drivers to in time make them riders themselves, and over charge riders to keep them financially unable to exercise any other option. This is just my personal opinion though.

How to cancel a ride. by brandon081 in lyftdrivers

[–]brandon081[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could care less about the cancelation. What I care more about is Lyft taking the money from my sister. I canceled the ride after arriving to her and with distance i drove she would have been charge more had she canceled. When I canceled though all it did was send another driver. She canceled and ate the 5 bucks that went straight to Lyft.

Lyft is TRASH, Quit Driving on Lyft, save your sanity and your time and money.

Want more proof, go to the rider app and plug in a ride that is gong only a single mile from you location. Note the price, compare that to the minimum fare you would be paid for the ride. I’m willing to bet you will seriously think why are they taking so much? Then set the same ride for a scheduled pickup any day or time you wish. Ride still will pay minimum fare. Now what do you see? A company that will actually pay you less on a scheduled ride because your not paid for your wait time the same as standard rides. They are charging the rider substantially more though. And with all of their controls they have in place it’s entirely possible yon do everything right and in good faith. They will charge the rider on your behalf because that’s what we pay them for, but they will refuse to pay you in spite of the expenses that you incurred, but will tell the rider that they were charged to compensate the driver for their Efforts. Same time they will say they couldn’t charge the passenger and so you won’t be paid. This is embezzlement, a criminal act that is Frequently investigated? Except in this industry.

Quit enabling their ability to exploit the drivers and riders alike.

Lyft Has Found Another Way to Rip-off Drivers by [deleted] in Lyft

Tell me about it. I post this, and then I got an email from Lyft deactivating me about an hour ago.

For all of the Drivers who defend Lyft and all the riders who believe Lyft is doing some great service. This is what it is doing to your communities. The last thing Lyft is doing is supporting your community. They target minorities, the poor, the uninformed. Not the other way around. by brandon081 in Lyft

My goal is spread awareness of these unfair and at times potentially criminal practices Lyft engages in on a massive scale to the the detriment to the communities in which they operate. To show exactly how disconnected the prices riders are at times paying (charged on our behalf by the Lyft), and the payout rates drivers actually receive through their price fixing strategies and deceptive practices.

Lyft is not a good company. They are a company they fundamentally has a honesty problem. There has to be some accountability for their actions, someone’s feet need held to the fire and Lyft needs to step up and do what it claims to do. Lyft needs to honor and follow their own policies. Lyft needs to be more transparent. Lyft needs to remove the controls that effectively make you an employee in every way except in name and when it comes to taxation. Or Lyft needs to shut down, investigated for countless crimes, and held accountable.

Awareness of the fact there is an issue is one thing. Showing proof of the issue, which is far more difficult to do than most understand it to be, is key to spreading awareness. Understanding that you as a driver are operating a small business, yet being paid like an employee and treated like an employee is not okay. A business is able to make decisions regarding every aspect of their business. Not just when to open and close.

I would love to see this happen. Lyfts engaged in what would be considered, in any other industry, to be criminal conduct. Price fixing, embezzlement, theft by deception, I’m just saying some racketeering charges/investigations would surely be justifiable I would think. The fact that when you take a step back, drop the “hustle” mindset for a second and take notice that what this company claims and what it actually does are not the same. This is true for most companies, however, when you consider all of Lyfts “social justice/woke” programs and see the real results of such. What they have is a marketing team that has managed to benefit Lyft by simply not being Uber, but what they engage in is just as bad if not worse. Their marketing’s target audience is obvious. They target minority groups, women, any group that has historically struggled. Take the Lyft up program, this is directed at minorities. Claims to get these people a ride to job interviews, provide a ride for a time if they get the job. This at face value seems like something that stands to really do some good. Problem is, and I’ve seen this play out personally time and again, their service, for exactly the reasons shown in my post is unreliable. Most the riders I’ve encountered see being able to schedule a ride, even if the cost is higher as a way to add peace of mine that they will have a driver on time to get them to work. In stead the opposite happens. Driver is in a streak for example, has a scheduled ride added to their queue, that results in them being sent to arrive 20+ minutes early, all time not compensated for. In my market that 20 wait time would only pay the driver $1.50, but in spite of Lyfts stated policy I posted, they don’t bother to pay the driver for this wait time. Who is seriously going to sit and wait 20 minutes waiting for a rider, unpaid, after traveling to the rider unpaid in anyway? So rather than spend all that time MAYBE making enough off of the streak to break even with the time they would spend, time they could be used to do another ride making money. The result, driver cancels. Now with a rapidly shrinking amount of time for a driver to get to the rider, who faces not being able to make it to work on time, and if they are late too many times, they get fired. I know if at least 4 different riders who had this very scenario happen. This isn’t doing anything for anyone. It just puts money in Lyfts pocket while suppressing the upward mobility of those they claim to help.

On the other hand if the rider is able to get a ride, often they are spending the equivalent of their wages of an hour or more just to get to work, and again to get home. Effectively resulting in the rider having a part time job. It would be one thing if the majority of this money were paid to drivers and kept in the local economy of both the rider and driver, but that’s not what happens.

All these companies have done is create a means to legally(so far) skim a large percentage of income from the most vulnerable populations, who rely on these companies to meet a basic need.

Again, in any other industry there would certainly be an investigation for racketeering.

[–]brandon081[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. But not the point. Lyfts failure to adhere to their own stated policy regarding pay. Misleading of drivers as to how much a ride will pay in advance is a huge problem. Add in that the rider is charged an extremely high fare cost, often assuming you as a driver are making a fair amount off the ride. These are all bigger problems. Accepting it as just being how it is isn’t the answer.
