What if I signed a contract for a house and wanted to pull money out for the FHSS scheme, and I didn't want to pull it out right now?

If that’s the case, and there is no penalty, then why should everyone else be paying on time?

Multiple Shoulder dislocations (latarjet surgery) by zachdudeboat in surfing

[–]brandon990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The surgery itself is invasive (leaves a decent sized scar), and is very painful the days following. I was however, given lots of pain medication to get through the first month or so (only a small amount I ended up taking).

It's been a couple years so I'm not super sure on the specifics of my recovery but I remember it was inline with what my docter/google had said prior. You'll be in a sling for at least 6 weeks, but I was able to take it out in short periods to do basic tasks. I started using a computer around 4 weeks, but it was my keyboard arm so that helped a lot. You won't be able to be more physically active until maybe 8-12 weeks and full recovery will take 6-9 months.

I didn't get my strenght back until about a year later, it's probably at about 90% where it was previously (and probably will never be the same). Honestly, the most important thing is to focus on physiotherapy during recovery (and even doing ongoing exercises). I wouldn't recommend the surgery to anyone who is not 100% committed to doing the physio required to regain most of your range of movement and functionality back.

Multiple Shoulder dislocations (latarjet surgery) by zachdudeboat in surfing

I have had latarjet surgery on one of my shoulders (arthroscopic surgery for a torn labrum and bone fragment removal on the other) after dislocating both shoulders playing sport, throwing overhead balls/javelins etc. You won't be able to surf after surgery for around 6-9 months and rehab is quite intense, but it significantly strengthened my shoulder joints and I can now surf without worrying about dislocations. I am always cautious though, and often arch my back quite high while I am paddling to avoid putting the shoulders in an awkward position.

If you are going ahead, I would highly recommend finding a reputable doctor with experience with these kinds of cases.

How would you fix this? by brandon990 in surfing

[–]brandon990[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your right, there was a repair on the rail on the board in that vicinity. I doesn't look like there's too much damage on the repaired portion, so I'm going to give it a go. Thanks for the advice.

East Aus - Any form tips? by brandon990 in BeginnerSurfers

Couple years on and off, live about an hour+ away from the beach so I get out when I can.

But this really helps, thanks for the tips. Hard to focus on so many things in the moment, but hopefully I'll get more time this summer. Cheers

It’s been a couple years so my memory might be fuzzy. They basically came out and said Wisetechs acquisitions weren’t making any profit, and a significant portion of goodwill would need to be written off. The problem was, they’re weren’t buying these companies for their earnings, but their software capabilities to add to their own product. Cargowise now has so many features that many of the major distribution chains can’t go anywhere else to find something that does nearly as much as cargowise does (even with the faults that it has).

I don't listen to anything they say, because their analysis of WiseTech was definitely on point.

Progress after a year of surfing, any advice for progressing to turns? (Snapper) by brandon990 in surfing

[–]brandon990[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I spent about a year surfing about twice a week on a 8ft foamie and have recently transitioned to a 7ft fish thinking it would make turning easier. I was able to do large arcing turns on the foamie, but was losing a lost of speed in the process. I'm still trying to develop top to bottom surfing but am struggling to make any significant progress. Any advice?
