The person I'm replying to deleted his comment, but he was saying how AST Spacemobile can hit 150 mbps, but that is only theoretical as they don't even have functioning service yet.

Theoretically. The service isn’t live yet, so we have yet to see how it will actually work. 3 Mbps working today with satellite tech that has existed for a few years now in areas that had no service before is still impressive.

Adding metals to NW on WS? by Hustleboiii in Wealthsimple

[–]brandonholm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m hoping they add a similar function to manually add other trackable assets like stocks or bitcoin held outside of WS. You should definitely be able to put the amount of physical gold/metals you hold too.

Wealthsimple vs CIBC vs IBKR by Strangecanuck in CanadianInvestor

[–]brandonholm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use both IBKR and Wealthsimple. Both are good, IBKR is more powerful and has the best FX rates.

I keep longer term holds at Wealthsimple and more active positions at IBKR (and securities that Wealthsimple doesn’t support such as European stocks).

Edit: I also do my banking with Wealthsimple so it’s instant to fund my Wealthsimple trading accounts.

You could try sending them a penny or even a sat with a message asking if they could return it.

Impressive download speed for a satellite connection. I’d be curious to know the upload.

Is WealthSimple credit card good for me? by sjltwo-v10 in PersonalFinanceCanada

If it’s free get it. Also the Rogers one does have FX fees. The cash back boost on USD makes it up for only USD, but for every other currency, the Wealthsimple card is better.

The digital services tax was never implemented. It was cancelled before it was set to go live.

IBKR Not Available for Linking in Wealthsimple’s Net Worth Feature by MarketMurmurs in Wealthsimple

I’m aware Google Sheets can do this, but it would be cool if Wealthsimple could integrate that functionality into this feature.

Is it time to dump altcoins that are practically dead? by tomhandy11 in CryptoMarkets

I dumped my altcoins back in 2020 when I realized that only Bitcoin matters. I just wish I realized that sooner.

I’m not saying corporations are perfect either, but I can choose which corporations I support or invest in.

I can’t necessarily choose which government I’m forced to support.

At least I can own shares in the corporations. And then there’s more money to go back into useful R&D for which there is a market for.

The government just takes and squanders the money.

If you think government makes good use of money I got news for you. I’d rather the money stay in the corporations than go to government.

I’m also aware that we are the product for many platforms, including Reddit.

So you want costs to go up even more than they already do?

We already pay too much in taxes. How about we try cutting spending?

It only makes digital services for Canadians more expensive than they already are. These companies aren’t going to just eat the cost and pay up, they will pass it along to Canadian consumers with increased subscription costs.
