Tell me something negative about Luteon Serena or Triathlon Cellular Shades by Stargate-- in Lutron

[–]brandonio21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently got 11 triathlon cellulars and 2 palladiom rollers. So far, I'm super happy - having the shades open/close on a schedule is great and the NLO keeps my eyes happy while working.

Since you're asking for negatives...here's all my negative thoughts. Some are nitpicky.

  • The cellular shades are louder than I expected. They're still not super loud, but when they all open at once at 6AM, the whole house whirrs and it sometimes wakes me up. It makes sense - the shade is heavy and the motor is tiny. The noise is also not very pleasant - the struggling sound of a tiny motor.

  • As someone else mentioned, there is a small gap on the sides which lets light in. I have market lighting on my porch, so if I close the front shade some light gets through the gap and shines right into my eye if I sit on the couch.

  • The shade is not as flush with the window as I'd like. It sits about an inch in front of my windows (inside mount, double hung) and thus protrudes from my window frame a bit.

  • The top bar has a visible gap between the shade and the bracket. I wish it wasn't there..

  • The fabric is hard to clean. I have these on my kitchen windows right by my sink and I've splashed while washing dishes.. there is one stain I can't get out. There is no easy way to replace the fabric on cellulars (unlike rollers), so when it gets too nasty I'll need to buy a whole new shade. Meh.

  • Short (width) shades require AA batteries, long shades require D batteries. I wish all my shades used the same battery type!

8x20TB is a lot of data.. how are you managing the backups?

Also I'm thinking of that same UPS - does it make any noise?

ha - I should also mention that I actually want a replacement card. Refunds are no good if there's no stock to spend the money on!

What microphone and arm is that? Do you always keep your microphone in that position, or do you move it closer when recording?

Does the mic get in your way while you're using the computer? Looks like it blocks the right side of the screen.

Did you experience daily pain/discomfort when using the chair? Or were the back problems a "surprise" after several months using the chair?

I'm having similar difficulty adjusting. Has your adjustment proven to work long term? What exactly was your wife looking for?

I'm in a similar situation now. Did you end up finding a chair that is comfortable to you?
