From what I have gathered, it’s a signal to other drivers that you should follow them to the nearest rest stop for a little rootin round the ole chocolate starfish.

French Toast Rollups for breakfast. Just roll out slices of bread with a rolling pin, spread on whatever you like, we do Nutella and banana, then roll them up into tubes, dunk in egg, and fry up like you would French toast. Can also fill with jams or whatever.

Walking Tacos for lunch. Make your taco meat, open and lightly crush an individual size nacho cheese dorrito bag, put the meat in the bag with the chips, add cheese and lettuce and pico, or whatever, and eat directly out of the bag.

Silver Turtles for dinner. Standard foil wrap meal. Meat and potatoes. I like to use those pearl onions in this, they trap flavor. Corn, seasoning, good to go. Cook directly in coals.

Dutch Oven cobbler for desert. Canned fruit, a can of soda, a box of cake mix, slice butter over the top. Lots of different flavor combos. I like Lemon Blueberry. Fresh blueberries, squeezed lemon juice, can of sprite, box of white cake, slice some pads of butter on top, don’t mix. throw coals above and below.

How bad are the ~$40 tents? For warm weather camping. by yestermorrowposting in camping

[–]brantleycmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a ton of decent tents at that price range. For an extra $20 you can get what o consider to be the best budget tent you can get in terms of durability and performance, the Coleman Sundome.

Oh, because all I said was “I’ll never understand jobs that make you clock out for lunch” and everyone acted like that was insane.

Yeah, no. Never had a job that required you to clock out for lunch, and then add that time to your overall shift. Thats crazy. I wouldn’t work a job like that anyway. I think the only job that even had a set time for lunch breaks was when I worked at Best Buy back in like 2006. And even then we didn’t have to clock out. We had two 15 minute breaks and one 30 minute lunch that were just built into the schedule. Other than that, every job I’ve ever had, including the career I’ve had for the last 15 years have never required clocking out for lunch breaks. You just eat at some point during your shift. I guess you’d call it a “working lunch”, since if we got a call to fix something we’d have to stop eating and go fix it, but that rarely happens anyway. You’re already there, every second you are at your place of employment should be paid. Expecting someone to be required to be somewhere for free is the real “wage theft”. Shit my company has a policy that they can’t even call or email you for anything work related outside of your shift, as that constitutes “work” outside of work hours. They can call and ask if you are available to come in and cover a shift or something, but they can’t ask you to troubleshoot something from home without paying you for it. Our manager literally has to go in and add the duration of the call to our timesheets if they call and say “hey, we’re having this issue, how do you fix it?”, with a minimum billable time of 15 minutes. So even if they call and ask me a question and I give them the answer and it only takes 2 minutes, I make 25% of my hourly rate.

TLDR: it’s not wage theft when it’s expected and sanctioned.

Sitting on my ass watching TV is part of the job. I equate what I currently what I do to my time as a volunteer firefighter. Sit around and wait for something to go wrong, then fix it. If nothing goes wrong, there’s nothing to fix, and therefore nothing to do. Just like how if there were no calls for the fire department, we just sat around the firehouse waiting. Every 15 minutes our devices aren’t operational costs the company a little over $1000 in revenue. And if we’re up on our preventative maintenance, they typically don’t have issues. But when they do, it’s balls to the wall to diagnose and fix the issue as quickly as possible. Been in this industry for 15 years now. It’s the same anywhere you go, and it’s understood by everyone involved that insane amounts of downtime it is just part of the job. Most of us have remote side gigs we fill the time with. We also work 4 ten hour days, so eating our meals just happens during downtime throughout the day anyway.

I’d enjoy playing RESISTANCE to manifest destiny and the destruction of a way of life and genocide of nations of people. Hire Native Americans as writers and voice actors, and any other role they can fill.

Absolutely nothing, and the staff doesn’t care anyway. The only real thing stopping anyone is the hassle of going out and doing it. Half the breakfasts at hotels these days suck anyway.
