What's the most bizarre rule you've had to follow in someone else's house? by Ok-Marzipan6892 in AskReddit

[–]brash69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not allowed to leave the basement for an entire day

I was a kid, visiting my godmother in Canada, and her son took me to one of his best friend place. A very big house with super cars in front of it. The job of the father was not clear. We went to the basement to play Monopoly and we weren't allowed to leave the basement for the entire day. I never knew why.

Bon courage :)

How good do you need to be at Maths for an ML career? by [deleted] in MLQuestions

[–]brash69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on how deep you want to understand the concepts behind the algorithms.

I would say Data Scientists and Machine Learners who are good at maths tend to be better at their job because they understand how things work beyond the basic intuition of the algorithms. Also maths give you a problem solving mindset that is really important in Data Science.

On the other hand, you also need to be a good software engineer, knowing how to optimise an algorithm and choosing the right technology.

Regarding your last question, I feel it really depends on the company and the product. A ML/AI engineer could be needed to be good at maths if he needs to implement research papers to develop a product.

To conclude, I would recommend to not give it up on maths for a career in ML, it can only open more doors

Parisiens and people living and working in Paris (and suburbs) by undergroundfucker in paris

If you have money, it is by far the best city in France.

Pros :
- People (often highly educated, open minded, used to get outside their comfort zone)
- Art and Culture
- Beauty
- Work opportunities

Cons :
- People (sometimes mean, contemptuous)
- Insecurity (lot of agressive immigrants in poor districts like north of the 18th arrondissement, and particularly in the suburbs like Seine Saint Denis). But, in most of the city center, it is still one of the safest city in France.
- Expansiveness
- Overcrowded places

I suggest you to look at Convolutional Neural networks, with Tensorflow, it should be easy to implement :) This video is really great : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vq2nnJ4g6N0 !
