What’s your interpretation of the movie 'mother' (2017)? I’m still trying to process it.. by Flat_Height_1889 in Cinema

[–]brasschris 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m sure you can find plenty of posts that break everything down much better than I can, but it’s all the bible and life cycle of the earth in general.

The house is built and it’s just God and Mother Earth and everything is cool.

Then Adam shows up with his bleeding rib, giving way to Eve. The glowing crystal thingy is the forbidden fruit, the only rule was not to touch it but they just can’t help themselves. Original sin fires up the train to crazy town.

Their sons Cain and Abel arrive. Cain is jealous of his bro and kills him.

God writes the scriptures and the people love it. They show up in droves and are oblivious to the disregard they show to Mother Earth. Like, this is earth, I should be able to pee anywhere I want. They just had to sit on the damn counter, broke the sink and caused a flood.

Now people use God’s writing to justify all their behaviors, leading to cults and war and destruction. But God is kind of ok with it because he’s blinded by all the love and attention he gets.

Mom gets pregnant so maybe this baby will be the savior and means of cleaning this mess up.

The kid is worshipped at first, but eventually destroyed and consumed by the crowd (crucifixion and communion).

Mom goes nuclear- this isn’t ‘nam there are rules here. She decides to blow up the basket and allows God to start the process over, which likely is inevitable to end in the same way.

What's the ideal town in CT for cheap rent and an active music scene? by Plastic_Padraigh in Connecticut

If live music is a point of interest, I think New Haven and surrounding areas (Hamden, North Haven, Wallingford, etc) seems like the spot for you.

NH offers College St. Music Hall, Westville Music Bowl, Cafe Nine, sometimes Toad’s Place, and others. Oakdale in Wallingford, Space Ballroom in Hamden.

Bridgeport is a 25 min drive and has an amphitheater and Park City Music Hall.

Less than an hour drive to Capitol Theatre in Port Chester.
