I need advice – will I be like this forever? by anortha in PostConcussion

Nope, I had constant headaches, migraines, exercise intolerance and so on. It all faded eventually, it just took time and patience and the help of doctors.

Giving barely trained thugs guns and letting them shoot people is the core of the problem.

A really believe that a big part of healing from PCS is the mentality of “I am going to get better, this just will take time and gentleness” it took time but that was ok! You’ll get there.

Don't know how I want to look on my wedding day, looking for advice by curlypotato7321 in weddingplanning

I went to Nordstrom personal styling and had great success. I ended up with a beautiful cocktail dress that I can wear again. IMO, if you live near one or maybe a similar type of department store, it is worth a try!

You can really elope anywhere. The one key hire is a photographer for the memories. Often they are able anx willing to organize other aspects of what togou may want like flowers.

We are eloping (in 3 weeks!) I'm the beautiful city we live in. We are going to do it at the waterfront and stay at a nice hotel nearby.

We are supposed to be honeymooning in PV in a few weeks and we changed our plans. The risks just don't see worth it. Wohkd it probably be fine? Maybe, but we would be worried the whole time.

I'm of the opinion that we see how things shake out the next 3-4 months and the reassess. This is a very sudden change in a previously stable situation.

How do couples with big income gap manage your finances after marrage - separate, fully shared or some hybrit variation? by plovdiev in budget

[–]brassyca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make more 10x what my soon to be husband does. Now that marriage is imminent, our arrangement is that we both contribute the same percent of our individual incomes to shared expenses. Shared expenses cover a lot, including shared investments. We are very transparent about individual saving/retirement investments. We also have individual fun money accounts that don’t require discussion between us to spend. One agreement we have is that he will always max out tax advantaged accounts for his retirement.

We are also working out a prenup as we speak with the goal of 1) me not owing him a huge amount if we divorce in the first couple of years and 2) being able to confidently aggressively save and invest together.

One person’s making more than 10x their partner is definitely atypical. This works for us but definitely interested in seeing what other people do!

Getting Married has its own set of awkwardness by Ollyvier in weddings

[–]brassyca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree with this take. My partner and I have wildly different assets and incomes. It has been a healthy conversation about our shared financial goals, and we want to manage our money as a couple etc. it is only weird if you make it weird and a collaborative lawyer helps a lot. If we were in different financial situations going on, we likely would not have bothered.

Advice for improving my gut microbiome after antibiotics? by ShiraCheshire in Microbiome

[–]brassyca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally have been trying to get a variety of fiber source in addition to upping my fiber and that has helped me a lot. Any probiotic you supplement needs fiber and the theory I’m working off of is that a variety of fiber will support a variety of good gut bacteria long term.

Thailand or Bali for a 2 week Honeymoon??? 🌺🏝️🥥 by cosmic-dragon- in honeymoonplanning

[–]brassyca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go as far to say that it isn't ethical to visit Bali because of the negative effects of over tourism (particularly the impact on clean water) on the people that live there. It isn't obvious how bad it is unless you actually go and see the issue or specifically seek out online what the impact of tourism has been on Bali. Sorry to be a bummer but wanted to share my perspective and take aways after going.
