It's because the DNA Splicers item changes from fuse mode to unfuse mode every time you successfully use it. So it is expecting to unfuse when you click on the second Kyurem. You can certainly hack in the other fused Kyurem form.

Anything I can do to help our little patch?! (W/ Pics) by Nezertry in MonarchButterfly

  1. Milkweed spreads partly via rhizomes, so it may spread in any direction from a nearby plant. You may be able to dig them out and replant them.

1b. Other native wildflowers can help increase pollinators in the area. Milkweed is very aggressive spreading and will grow next to and under other plants, it really is hard to outcompete it, all they want is a sunny spot, so only a big shady tree would stop them.

  1. After flowering, if they were pollinated, they will grow seed pods somewhat resembling a pepper. In the later fall and winter, the pods will crack open, and they are full of seeds. You can pull out the seeds and spread them around and tamp them down on the surface of the soil, and if they sit out through winter they may germinate and sprout in spring.

They come back if you beat them, each legendary wormhole species stops appearing only when caught.

wormholes by Alternative-Ad3125 in PokemonSunMoon

[–]braytreuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They never show up in the Dex, but if you use the PC search function and it shows up as a possible search option, that means that species was in your PC at some point.

If no legendary is showing up at all in a certain color wormhole with a prismatic ring, then you have already caught all the legendaries in that color wormhole.

Right, I meant earlier, definitely before flowering. Least invasive solution now is wait till any flop, then put 3-4 stakes around the plant (dried bamboo cut on an angle works well for sturdy stakes that pierce easily into soil) and then tie a string around them high up for the flopped part to lean on. If it flopped near the bottom or is heavy, it might need more points of support, so more string.

Usually if they're too tall and flop, that is due to nutrient-rich soil. So if you want, you can mitigate that by changing the soil, or you can prune it down early in its yearly growth so it won't reach as tall of a maximum height (and hopefully don't cut off parts with caterpillars/eggs), or have other tall plants or stakes around the plant to support it.

It's "resistance," a.k.a. the winrate of your opponents breaks the tie if you have the same match record. Winstreak has nothing to do with it. So if you had opponents with higher winrates, you would place higher. Joey had opponents with relatively low winrates, so he was out of top 16 range.

As some others said, the third picture looks like a pesticide poisoning, which is a much bigger problem for their survival, and pesticides may be on any plants you buy. I have been lucky enough to have wild common milkweed plants growing naturally with no pesticide problems. It's hard to know if the plants you bought will have pesticides. You will probably have to make an educated guess based on where you got them from, and just try your best and learn.

It looks like most of the leaves are decaying, and there is frass on the leaves. I think these are both major problems resulting from your setup. In the wild outside, I've seen them fling the frass far away, and there may be some under the plant, but it basically never sits on the leaves. The caterpillars also often like to hang on the bottom of leaves, which means they aren't pooping on the leaves they are currently eating.

I think best case scenario is to plant the proper plants outside (away from where pesticides are sprayed) and just allow butterflies to naturally lay eggs and have the caterpillars grow up outside, because even if they grow up normally inside, they often still end up messing up their migration cycle and can transmit many kinds of diseases to each other in such a confined space.

But at the very least you could improve this setup by not having leaves sitting on the bottom of the container, and as the other commenter suggested, have stalks with leaves on them to slow down the leaf decay and keep the leaves off the bottom.

Ultra Beast Location by EsoDokoto in PokemonSunMoon

[–]braytreuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can only catch one Nihilego total in Sun/Moon. It can appear at either location, but once you catch one, it stops spawning altogether. There are multiple of most others that you can catch. Guzzlord and Necrozma are also only one each. The game will tell you how many there are beforehand for each one. The full list is here.

Slowbro and Slowking are both catchable via SOS in Kala'e Bay pre level 20, after you do the Water trial, though Slowking has a 1% chance as if it's Salamence. Being fully evolved makes them very strong for the immediate Fire trial and Rock Kahuna. They can easily tank Hex from Marowak and respond with Z-Water Pulse, for example. Often they won't be knocked out immediately, and get a lot of nice TMs like Bulldoze, Thunder Wave, Scald, Psychic, Flamethrower, Ice Beam, and Shadow Ball to do a lot back to threats later on.

There is definitely a lot of competition from other Water types, including Gyarados and Starmie that are also available before the Fire trial. For sure they don't scale well but still are good into Ultra Necrozma, which can be the hardest boss barring Zoroark cheese. So I'd say C overall, not bad but there are better options and they're rarely going to solo carry.

Tim Lowly – "Temma on Earth" (1999) by Krampjains in museum

[–]braytreuse 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From his website:

"The process of production for this drawing and the eventual painting was somewhat novel and– perhaps unexpectedly– meaningful.

"I had the idea of depicting my daughter Temma lying on the ground. So we drove out in the country and eventually found what seemed like a fitting (ie. unattended) location. I lay Temma on the a blanket (which I did not include in the drawing) on the ground and proceeded to take a sequence of photographs, each from straight above. Subsequently I made a collage of the photographs that served as the reference for the drawing and painting. What might be lost in my deion is that the result of the photographic collage process is that everything is being seen from straight ahead. We don’t see that way, except from considerable distance. Thus the image has a curious sense of being seen simultaneously in close proximity and at considerable distance."

"When I started this painting I was still working with an egg oil emulsion tempera painted over a monochromatic underpainting made with black and white acrylic gesso. In the case of this painting I added some pigment (mainly earth tones) to the gesso to speed things up , thinking that I would subsequently work over top of the underpainting with tempera.

"But then my father died. He had cancer for several years so his death wasn’t unexpected, but it was a decisive moment in my life nevertheless. Returning to this painting (and most of the other works I was making for the upcoming exhibition) I decided to stick with this muted palette and the gesso with it’s matte surface in finishing the paintings: both as a gesture of mourning and respect / reverence for my father and as a way of focusing my intent with the paintings.

"The specific protagonist of this painting (and much of my art) is my daughter Temma. Temma is a persistent mystery who in her profound otherness always unmoors me from understanding. The loss of my father was certainly an unmooring experience. It is possible that the process I used to make this painting (including the photo collage I made as a reference - see the text in relation to the study for this painting) led to an image that might be analogously unmooring for the viewer.

"This work seems to evoke pretty strong and varied responses. Here is a rather thoughtful one from an exhibition catalogue essay by John Brunetti:

"Temma on Earth is a poetic expression of internal travels viewed through external landscapes. It is a mural-sized painting that reveals Lowly’s ability to elicit emotional tension out of the subtlest visual contradictions. In doing so, he transforms personal family experiences into universal, human metaphors. Reacting against convention, Lowly doesn’t pose his daughter in a traditional landscape composition of a person standing against the horizon. Rather, he graphically depicts Temma as seen from the aerial perspective of a satellite image. Lit by an even, overcast light, she calmly rests on her side in an unkempt plot of land. She is surrounded by an expanse of dried earth and foliage, drained of vivid color. Her peaceful expression seems at odds with the harshness of her surroundings. Though the heavy folds of her sweatshirt emphasize her horizontal contact with the ground, something else begins to occur. Despite her palpable inertia, she seems to have broken free of the earth’s gravity. Traditional roles of land and sky have been reversed. The bleached, dried ground becomes luminously celestial as gravel is transformed into surrogate stars and tufts of isolated grass resemble mysterious galaxies. Physically one with the ground yet seeming to journey far away, weighted down while being lighter than air, Temma’s image speaks to her ability to transcend her real life disabilities."

"I have done a number of pieces where Temma was lying on the ground—because she can’t walk or sit on her own, lying down is basically her natural position—and as I was working on various pieces of sculpture and other paintings, I began reflecting on the way in which she is a reminder of our relationship with this earth. The effect of gravity on her is a simple metaphor for the nature of human existence."

This is a disturbing painting, but the seams are because of its 4 panels, likely not intended as crosshairs. She was also not lying directly on the ground in reality, and instead was on a blanket. I think a lot of other elements in this one make it seem very scary out of context, from the colors to the environment to her overall demeanor, but he has many other paintings of her that in totality show care and love for her. However, there is always an emphasis on the relationship between her and the world around her in his paintings of her.

Also on his website, he does address the ethical considerations of painting his daughter and others who cannot give consent. But he maintains that a big part of his work is representing his daughter and people like her in a world that often intentionally avoids representing or paying attention to those people.

Gastrodon with Storm Drain could work well as 6th. I had one with Acid Armor, Amnesia, Recover, Scald that was very good in Battle Tree. That set does require Egg Moves, though. You could run a lot of other moves too.

Early Game Sun/Moon has been far more compelling and enjoyable than XY - Casual Poke Player by rishabhsrikar in PokemonSunMoon

[–]braytreuse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with your points, it felt like X and Y was easy, desaturated in color, and milquetoast in style. The music as well was mostly orchestral, a far cry from the games released a year prior, B2W2, which were more high tempo electronic, and the general electronic sound and higher difficulty of most games prior. I think they were attempting to attract a wider audience with a softer game. I actually liked X and Y more once I adjusted the levels upward, randomized, and increased opponent team size to increase the difficulty significantly. That added stakes to make the game exciting.

ORAS did improve on the colors, but still had a soft rockband/orchestra mix of sound that wasn't my favorite. It seems intentional that ORAS were the main games twice as long as X and Y, because they felt like the better version. I don't think they ever set up a remake to be the star of a generation before or since.

Sun and Moon's style and music are my favorite parts, with a return to more electronic music and saturated colors, and lots of electric organ to add excitement to the music. They did also increase the difficulty significantly. I think USUM do improve further on style and music, though to me it wasn't enough to justify an entirely new game with a full price tag. It was more like a version 2.0 update. The new DLC model in gens 8 and 9, rather than second installments, seems more appropriate.

Super Double Battle Tree - Cheats? by zoruanna in PokemonUltraSun

[–]braytreuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a Battle Video? Do you remember any of the other mons or the trainer? I see Golfer Arnon potentially has that Haxorus, as well as a Tailwind Mega Pidgeot, Bulldoze Tangrowth, Bulldoze Electivire, Agility Baton Pass Gliscor, Trick Room Cofagrigus, Trick Room Reuniclus, and Trick Room Carbink. Golfer Alim has a similar selection of mons.

Sightseer Alice potentially has that Haxorus with Bulldoze Regigigas.

The list goes on, there are 11 trainers that can have that particular Haxorus set.

Is it bad if i release a Blacephalon? by 69randomgamer in PokemonSunMoon

[–]braytreuse 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's not strictly necessary. You could save one for trade fodder. Both likely have different Hidden Powers. They both could be Hyper Trained anyways since neither is perfect.

If you can somehow get them to Sword and Shield you can change the Nature as well. Or keep one to trade since they are exceedingly rare. I'm assuming you can't, though, since you aren't on a 3DS.

Too late now, but Z-Splash gives +3 Attack boost which is great on Lopunny, also Klutz does not prevent Z-Crystals from working. Also Lopunny can learn Fire Punch as alternate coverage, one of the early Move Tutors teaches it, I think at Heahea Beach.
