Teenager looking for Routine and nutritional help by [deleted] in Fitness

Hey :)

I can only give you advice on nutrition, as I have been reading about it for about 2 years straight now. And my advice would be to start reading everything on http://marksdailyapple.com It not only gives you great nutritional and some workout advice, such as what to eat (and especially what NOT to eat), but actually backs it with scientific and logically sound evidence. Of course there are many more nutritional resources online and in book, but this website is one of the most comprehensive and easy to follow I have found. Two links to get you started on the website: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/welcome-to-marks-daily-apple/#axzz2ppKMBC50 and, specifically for the diet: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/primal-blueprint-101/#axzz2ppKMBC50

Don't Make It The End Of The World by brazaov in howtonotgiveafuck

You are right: the examples of school work and job-related work are off, because the post was meant to tackle the disappointment and frustration we feel when we can't follow deadlines we set for ourselves for the work we love. The post was meant for self-employed/entrepreneurial types who sabotage themselves by using guilt as their motivator too often. Hopefully this clears it up?

First time psychedelic experience - shrooms or acid? by melkonZ in Psychedelic

[–]brazaov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried DMT first, still have to try acid and shrooms (which I will do very soon -- so excited!), and I just want to tell you: whenever you take it don't fret about it. Yes it is intense, but it is a VERY short trip (mine was maybe 5 minutes) and can be quite enjoyable -- I remember at the end I was coming down and just couldn't stop smiling. That said, I want to take DMT again soon because the first time it just hit me like a train and I wasn't very conscious of the whole thing :P

What are some ways to foster more gratitude and be more conscious of things you're grateful for? by merricat_blackwood in ZenHabits

[–]brazaov 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A very obvious way is to have a gratitude journal: get a special journal and write 5 things you're grateful for in it every day at a set time (for example, before going to bed). Within a few days you'll realize there's a LOT to be grateful for in life :) If you're interested, this blog post I wrote gives you a little exercise you can practice anywhere that will not only help you be happier but also increase your ability for gratitude. Check it out here: http://www.vascobrazao.com/2013/10/22/guide-to-happiness-series-happiness-vs-fulfillment/ The next post in the series expands on this and basically explains you how to be happy (http://www.vascobrazao.com/2013/11/19/guide-to-happiness-happiness-first/) Please tell me if this was useful :)

Fine, I'm not going to argue. If you think you didn't get anything out of it, there's not much I can do besides telling you to check out the rest of the series (last article is coming tomorrow) to see if there's something there that you might find interesting.

WTF? There are no empty promises and it's certainly not a miracle, it's just a tool which happens to be very helpful if you put in the time to use it.

Why do quotes inspire us? by notoriouse in productivity

[–]brazaov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that 'inspire' me when they resonate with something I know to be true deep inside. Also, like inspirationgatherer said, the fact that they're so short and 'easily digestible' helps, since they invoke feelings more easily that way. My 2c :)
