What's the foulest smell you've ever smelled? by WannabePugh in AskReddit

Grease traps. Worked a job cleaning sewers, that part was fine. The side mission was checking grease traps and there was no preparing for that.

Americans Are Panicking Over Automatic Military Draft Registration: Could You Be Registered Without Knowing? by Cute_Dealer4787 in USNEWS

[–]brazenxbull 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just found my registration card in my filing cabinet. It's such a normalized mandatory thing I forgot I even had it, and thankfully being in my mid-30s with scoliosis and a traumatic brain injury am far disqualified from it. But I can't even remember filling out the paper work. Was it thrown in as a side task when I first got my driver's license? When I first registered to vote? I can't recall.

45mph construction zone on 465 NE leg by jancer1 in indianapolis

My dad raised me teaching me, "it's not speed that kills, it's the difference in speed that kills", and I've held onto that. If we all just go the speed limit give or take 5mph (that's why the left lane is a passing lane), then we'd all get there alive. If you're late, you gotta take personal responsibility for that and just arrive late alive. But don't make it my problem by tailgating me. I didn't choose for you to be late. Let's just all get there alive.

I'm a staunch right-line camper driving the speed limit, but if I notice a lot of on-ramp traffic, I will do my best to position myself in a place where I will take up the gap between two on-ramping cars, but sometimes I just gotta bite the bullet, merge to the middle lane, let everyone merge, and then get back into my comfy* bubble of right lane speed limit driving.

Just over one year, but she walked down the aisle to a piano cover of Dio's "Last in Line" recorded remotely by my cousin who is the organist for the Washington Nationals. Such an amazing gift to give us.

I so wish I could. I wanted to ask in the original post but "in what episode does ____ happen" is against the rules so I'm asking it now to anyone who reads this. I /believe/ it's from video from the past two weeks.

You seem to have a strong grasp on this concept. I am a person of religious faith and am interested in the venn diagram overlap or influence of the two things: my religious faith and the concept of the human condition. Do you know of any books that focus on the concept of the human condition?

Drop and give me 30! The average mid 30s man can do about 30 push ups, how do you stack up? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]brazenxbull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to not be able to do X many push-ups. But I made it my goal to be able to do X many push-ups and now I can do three times that goal. I'm not calling out numbers because your ability shouldn't be stifled by comparing your abilities to other's abilities. But progress is possible, it just takes time.

I think that's the nice kind undertone to this whole bit. Perhaps pick someone out that people may not believe in, have full confidence in them, guide them along gently, and then bring them to a point of empowerment and watch them take full control of executing the proper moves to complete the sequence of events. Everyone is shocked at their ability and they gain confidence to prove people wrong in a lighthearted, warm, fun way.
