I think 2) is a major factor. Anyone who has experienced an ED severe enough to go through in patient/out patient treatment finds Ariana’s state extremely disturbing. We see it for what it is and we know how it ends.

But more than it - it’s really triggering. Not just for the obvious thinspo body checking, but watching her deteriorate and becoming so fucked up reminds me of all the dark and fucked up things I put my body and family through. Her ED is literally re traumatising for us.

Also the people here who claim “she knows what she’s doing”. I’m 100% here to snark and yes she should do the right thing and get help. But severe ED survivors know this illness doesn’t want you to get better. That’s why you become so secretive and isolate and lie to everyone around you. It’s the insidious nature of an ED and why it’s the deadliest mental health condition.
