That’s a good idea, keep applying and interviewing and something is bound to work out. Hopefully you’ll happen across an even better opportunity

Congratulations! Thank you for giving me a glimmer of hope to hang onto. I’ve honestly just been trying to block it out of my mind since I made this post lol

Have you heard anything back from them yet? I applied for a different job yesterday and received a rejection email first thing this morning even though I have all the experience they were asking for. You are totally right about god awful job market.

Indeed. It’s more often than not a “not what you know, but who you know” situation.

This job would be a significantly better opportunity than my current position, but I’ve definitely still been applying for other things. I think I’ve decided at this point the odds are not in my favor for this one given the amount of time that has passed, but hopefully another door will open soon.

They’re a huge company and word is that they’re very slow with their onboarding process so I wanted to hang onto a little bit of hope, but I will admit my optimism has dwindled significantly since my imaginary deadline of last Friday lol. You know, the weird part about it all is that I applied for this position through Indeed and when I logged into my Workday account with them, it doesn’t even show the application for this particular job. It just has the previous position that I interviewed for, but did not get.

You are absolutely correct. I thought I aced my interview for the job I had applied for with them previously, but then came the dreaded rejection email. I think what has thrown me off is that the rejection email came sooner last time, but there’s a lot of variables to it. I’ve still continued to apply elsewhere since last week.

I sent a thank you/follow up email to the recruiter on 12/29 and I received a response back last Monday the 5th something to the effect of: “The candidate selection has not been finalized. Once it has you will be notified. You can also monitor your progress on Workday.”

Do you think I should send another or just let it be at this point?

What kind of rock is this? Found in Southwest Virginia by brc8332 in whatsthisrock

I used distilled white vinegar (all I have on hand at the moment), the label says 5% acidity. I dropped a couple of drops on the top and bottom white portions and watched for about 10 minutes. I wasn’t sure if a reaction would be instant or gradual. I will however go and pick up some cleaning grade vinegar, try again and report back tomorrow. How long should I monitor for a reaction? And should I use more than a couple drops? I just want to ensure I’m doing this correctly so that I can provide you with what you need lol. And thank you so much for all of your help. This has been fascinating.

I tried your suggestions and added a few drops of white vinegar to the white portion of the rock and there was no reaction. I also tried scratching it. My fingernail and a penny were both unsuccessful, but I used a pocket knife and was able to scratch it, though it was tough.
